THE world’s tallest woman towered over the world’s shortest as the pair met for a spot of afternoon tea.
Rumeysa Gelgi, 27, who stands at 7ft, joined 24in Jyoti Amge, 30, for the first time at The Savoy Hotel in London – and they had more in common than you’d think.
The pair were honoured as GWR Icons in the latest book[/caption]

The Guinness World Record holders were celebrating the 70th anniversary of the famous book.
They exchanged life stories and their experiences at opposite ends of the height spectrum.
Rumeysa said: “It was difficult for us to make eye contact at times due to our height difference, but it was great.
“We do have things in common – we both love make-up, self-care, and doing our nails. It was so amazing meeting her for the first time.”
And Jyoti added: “I’m used to looking up and seeing people taller than me but I was so happy to look up today and see the world’s tallest woman.
“I’m delighted that I’ve met Rumeysa, she is so good-natured, and I felt very comfortable talking to her.”
Both Rumeysa and Jyoti have been honoured as GWR Icons in the latest book.
They were crowned alongside the tallest man, Sultan Kosen, and Diana Armstrong, who has the world’s longest fingernails.
Editor-in-chief Craig Glenday said: “The Guinness World Records Icons are those record holders who truly embody the spirit of GWR.
“It is all about celebrating differences, and by bringing together these two amazing, iconic women, they can share their perspectives on life with each other and also with us.
“It’s a chance for us to celebrate this amazing category of people and say thank you for being such great ambassadors for record breaking.”
It comes as a woman has also won the Guinness World Record for the world’s widest tongue.
Brittany Lacayo, from Houston, Texas, has a huge tongue that measures nearly four inches at its widest point.
Her tongue is so massive that it’s almost the same width as a credit card and she is often pictured balancing heavy snacks on it.
The lawyer, who runs her own firm, can hold up to four lollipops in her mouth as well as grip onto a large chocolate bar.
Brittany decided to measure her tongue against the previous winner who boasted a width of 7.3cm.
She found that her tongue measures an astonishing 7.90cm – or 3.11 inches – at its widest point.
Elsewhere, a Brazilian woman who claims to be the world’s oldest person ever reached another birthday milestone.
Amantina dos Santos Duvirgem, also known as Dona Julia, blew out candles to celebrate her 124th birthday.
She is said to have been born on 22nd June 1900 – exactly six months before the death of Queen Victoria.
That makes her the oldest unverified person to live on earth.
Meanwhile, another woman who holds the record for having the world’s longest legs revealed the unique problems she faces in her daily life.
Maci Currin has held the Guinness World Record for four years, with her statuesque legs measuring 53.3 and 52.8 inches each – the longest any female has in the world.
The 21-year-old, who stands tall at 6ft 10ins, has gone viral on TikTok after sharing clips of herself showing off her extraordinary height.
But not everyone on social media likes her, it seems.
Maci from Austin, Texas, says she receives lots of mixed reactions and hate comments from people on her posts.
