Who would have thought that one simple movie about a boy learning karate to defeat the boys who bully him and impress the girl of his dreams would have spawned a franchise that continues to this day?
As we conclude the final season of Cobra Kai, it is incredible to realize that we have seen everything we wanted and more. The Johnny Lawrence redemption story was the crowning achievement and was masterfully done as well.

Is Netflix planning a Cobra Kai spinoff?
Officially? Nope. But we are here to speculate. According to the series co-creator, Hayden Schlossberg, there have been active talks and throwing around ideas to see where the story can go next, in the Cobra Kai Cinematic Universe.
Who knows? Perhaps the mythical Mr. Miyagi prequel movie or series could happen, given Hollywood’s love of resurrecting old properties and IP. As long as there is no CGI debacle ala The Flash, the fans will flock to the theatre to see their favorite Sensei on the big screen.
One can logically expect a Cobra Kai spinoff to be announced at some point soon.
When is Karate Kid: Legends releasing and who’s returning from Cobra Kai?
It’s complicated. Karate Kid: Legends is the formal continuation of the original series and also stars Jackie Chan, who reprises his role from the Jaden Smith-led reboot. It also features Ralph Macchio reprising his role as Daniel LaRusso and is said to occur, nearly three years after the events of Cobra Kai.
The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on May 30, 2025.
Cobra Kai is currently streaming on Netflix.
