Will Oda Bite? Naruto’s Most Disgusting Jutsu Makes for an OP Devil Fruit Ability

The Naruto series has plenty of terrifying techniques, including forbidden jutsu or the techniques used only once or twice in the series due to how terrifying and plot-breaking they are- but of all the techniques, possibly the most unsettling one was the Aburame Clan’s insect-control jutsu.

The ability of this clan to not only control a countless number of bugs but also house these bugs inside their bodies makes them terrifying. They are walking disasters and plagues, and as soon as they unleash the bugs in swarms, all that will be left in ruin.

This ability is overpowered in truth and seems to come straight out of a horror movie. Yet, in the world of One Piece, where the base element or concept of the Devil Fruits defines power levels, this ability could shine even more. Let us delve deeper and understand how this would work.

The Aburame clan is full of walking disasters

Imagine a Paramecia or Zoan-type Devil Fruit that grants the user the power of insects as the Zoan-type fruit, which could give the user the many abilities of insects (the size could be as large as a human).

Whereas the Paramecia-type Devil Fruit could give the user full control over an endless swarm of insects – essentially making them unstoppable and the embodiment of the plague itself.

The Aburame Clan is one of the most overlooked clans considering their versatile insect jutsu. They can surveil, ambush, and outnumber an enemy at any time. Unlike flashy jutsu users, their powers seem more on the side of stealth and could be a good fit for an assassin (especially with venomous insects).

Just like the chakra of the Aburame clansmen allows them to control the bugs that feed on them, having a Devil Fruit means that the user can have absolute control, treating the bugs as an extension of their own body. These bugs can consume enemies alive, infiltrate their bodies, or discreetly surveil them.

How the ability would translate into a Devil Fruit

If adapted into One Piece, this ability would fit perfectly with the Devil Fruit system. The most obvious choice would be to call the Devil Fruit the Mushi Mushi no Mi, a Paramecia-type fruit that allows the user to create, control, and even transform into swarms of terrifying insects.

Unlike traditional Logia users who can turn into elements, this ability is on another level. There is no direct suppression that could affect the user’s abilities, and they would function more like a hive mind while the insects spread out over a wide area.

The connection range could be limited, but even then, the user would be able to gain access to the abilities of their foes, the secrets of their allies, locations where treasures are hidden, and set up terrifying ambushes with the information they gain.

Considering how this does not even begin to account for the effectiveness of the insects against those not trained in Haki or having a Devil Fruit, a Mushi Mushi no Mi could be one of the most broken Devil Fruits in One Piece.

Naruto is available for streaming on Crunchyroll. The manga is available for reading on Shueisha’s Manga Plus app.
