The James Bond movie franchise has been helmed by the Brocolli family since its inception with 1962’s Dr. No, so the news that Barbara Brocolli and long-time collaborator Michael G. Wilson are stepping back from their Bond roles is a huge deal. Every James Bond movie has been overseen by a Brocolli, and Barbara herself has been involved since 1987’s The Living Daylights. So, Daniel Craig’s incoming replacement will be the first of all the James Bond actors not to have a member of the Brocolli family directly involved with their project.
