LORETTA Bruce is the mum of famous podcaster and TikToker Grace Keeling AKA GK Barry.
While Grace headed to the Jungle for the 2024 series of I’m a Celebrity: Get Me Out of Here, Loretta appeared on Loose Women and revealed what it was like to be GK Barry’s mum.
Mum of GK Barry
Loretta gave birth to Grace on August 12, 1999, in Cambridge.
Grace would later go on to launch hugely successful Saving Grace Podcast, where she has interviewed guests including Katie Price and Louie Spence.
Loretta revealed on Loose Women that she didn’t realise Grace would become so successful when she was a child.
She did admit though that she knew Grace was immensely talented from a young age.
Loretta said: “I wouldn’t say I thought something like this would happen but it all sort of started when she was about six, she used to go into the kitchen and do these videos…She always had something, we didn’t know what it was and we didn’t know if it would progress.
“She’s always been very good with one liners, the one liner queen!
“So there was always something there.”
I’m a Celebrity
Grace was one of the 12 contestants to head Down Under for the 2024 series of I’m a Celebrity: Get Me Out of Here.
The star quickly became a fan-favourite but initially struggled to adjust to living in the Jungle.
Loretta has said that Grace is “scared of everything” and revealed that her daughter won’t even go into the family’s loft, because she is scared of spiders.
Grace’s battle with bullying
Loretta revealed on Loose Women that Grace was bullied so badly at school that she would often “come home and cry a lot”.
The podcaster’s mum shared that she hopes Grace’s success can show people that they can succeed, even if they are being bullied.
Loretta also admitted that some of Grace’s former bullies have got in touch with her after she became a success.
She added: “Funny that isn’t it?”
Supporting her daughter
Grace is in a relationship with England footballer Ella Rutherford.
Loretta is a big supporter of their relationship and told the Loose Women panellists about meeting Ella for the first time.
She said: “When we got back [from holiday], we went to her house and Ella was there.
“Grace said, ‘Mum, this is Ella…’ and we said, ‘Hi Ella’ and to be honest with you, I am so pleased that she’s found someone that is honest and kind and hardworking… As long as they’re happy, I don’t care.”
