Revenge of the Sith involved George Lucas’ own money when it came to producing the finale of the Prequel Trilogy. Producer Rick McCallum talked to Vanity Fair about how he was trying to wrap up the production of the film for as little money as possible, aiming to get things settled for a snug $115 million.

Revenge of the Sith delivered a fantastic finale to Star Wars’ Prequel trilogy, which had its issues, but has been remembered fondly by an entire generation of fans. The fact that George Lucas’ own money was involved in the film and that producers were actively working to cut corners did not, in fact, diminish the final product, although opinions on that might be split.
Revenge of the Sith wrapped up production short of the budget that Rick McCallum promised

Rick McCallum, speaking with Vanity Fair, revealed that the aim was to wrap production up at $115 million, which was something McCallum wanted to do to honor the fact that George Lucas had put his own money into the production. He said:
We’re trying to be as fiscally conservative as possible, because it’s his own money.
However, it seems that the production wrapped up at two million short of the estimated budget, with Box Office Mojo reporting that The Revenge of the Sith was produced with a budget of $113 million. The film has largely remained in the minds of audiences, mostly because there is a consensus that the story that it told could have had a much stronger ending.
While the first half is praised as some of the best Star Wars content ever put to screen, the film lags horribly in the second half, which is further complicated by the fact that it needed to tie its end with the Original Trilogy.
The Star Wars fandom might finally be shifting towards new archetypes

Star Wars has often seen fans respond well to characters and stories that echoed the archetypes established by the Original Trilogy. Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Leia Organa, and Darth Vader are all characters that fans like coming back to again and again, and even see in different versions with different characters.
However, lately, there has been a consensus among fans for new content. The Mandalorian, Skeleton Crew, and Andor ushering in a new age of Star Wars, that while revolving around the same themes, has managed to work with different characters, that have come up as different archetypes in the story.
Revenge of the Sith can be streamed on Disney+.
