In Saudi Arabia holy cities of Makkah and Madinah have seen water levels recede after heavy rains caused widespread flooding.
Authorities have lifted the emergency alerts issued earlier. Torrential downpour had submerged several areas including parts of Makkah prompting rescue teams to launch operations to assist those trapped.
Country’s meteorological department had issued red alerts for some regions and orange alerts for Riyadh due to heavy rains.
A snowstorm has struck Brussels, the capital of Belgium, following a winter storm that moved from northern France and Germany.

Starting on Thursday, local time, the storm brought snowfall and dropped temperatures to around 3°C. The meteorological office has also forecast rain for the region in the coming days.
