Vince McMahon Failed With 1 WWE Star and Triple H is Just Repeating His Mistakes

WWE was transformed from a regional territory promotion into a global juggernaut by Vince McMahon in the last four decades. However, after his exit from the company, his son-in-law and WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque and CEO Nick Khan took over the regime and have ushered the company into a new era.

Since Triple H took over the management, WWE has experienced impressive heights of success. The past year has seen highly successful Premium Live Events, massive deals and rise of multiple stars who are being positioned as the future of the promotion such as Bron Breakker, Jey Uso, and Tiffany Stratton.

However, there was one particular star from WWE NXT who had all the potential to rise as a main eventer. He even had a remarkable start on the main roster, but after one major setback, former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon never gave him that monster push. While things were expected to change under Triple H’s regime, that has clearly not been the case since.

Which WWE superstar still was booked in a lackluster run by Vince McMahon?

The WWE Superstar in question is none other than Finn Balor. He was a top name that was brought in WWE and following a successful tenure in NXT, he was drafted to RAW as one of the first picks in the WWE Draft.

In only a few weeks, Balor defeated Seth Rollins to became the inaugural WWE Universal Champion at SummerSlam. That night gave the impression that Finn Balor was set to become a main event star in the company.

However, Balor had to relinquish the championship the very next night on RAW. This was due to the fact that Balor suffered a major shoulder injury at the hands of Seth Rollins. The Demon King returned months later, but things were not the same at all. Vince McMahon never pushed Finn like he did upon his main roster debut.

Finn Balor majorly found himself in mid-card feuds apart from a handful of World title matches he had during McMahon’s era. He even returned to WWE NXT in 2020 and experienced major resurgence in the developmental territory. But as soon as Balor returned to the main roster, he was not booked as strong as he was.

The biggest example of a failed Finn Balor run was Vince McMahon booking his Demon persona to lose in abrupt fashion to his golden boy Roman Reigns at the 2021 Extreme Rules match. This build a lot of frustrations among fans who believed that Balor deserved better.

Finn Balor is still booked poorly under Triple H’s regime

When Triple H took over the WWE regime, many Finn Balor fans expected him to be booked better. However, he was nothing more than just a member of The Judgment Day in which Damien Priest was being pushed as a major star. Even though he came tag team champion, his title reign was also poorly booker and panned by a lot of fans and critics.

Moreover, despite taking over the reins of The Judgment Day, Finn Balor has still been struggling with a string of losses in top level matches to stars like Gunther and Damien Preist. Most recently, he lost to Seth Rollins in an Elimination Chamber match on RAW.

This led to Balor missing a huge opportunity despite building major hype for it and entering a star-studded match with stars like Logan Paul who qualified with his new finisher to Rey Mysterio. With Finn Balor still in a similar position under Triple H’s management as he was when Vince McMahon was incharge, it will be interesting to see if The Game would change his mind and realise the true potential of a world class athlete like Finn Balor.
