Stephen “tWitch” Boss‘ mother is continuing to honor his memory following the release of his wife Allison Holker‘s memoir.

Connie Boss Alexander shared a sweet throwback video of her late son via her Instagram Story on Thursday, February 20. “Popped up in my Timehop,” she wrote. “I will always stand for you son..I miss you Stephen!🥹❤

In the clip, Boss gushed over his relationship with his mother. “My mom has always believed in everything I was doing. Always,” he said in an interview. “My mom’s always been a champion for everything, no matter what.”

Boss — who was known for competing on So You Think You Can Dance before appearing in the Step Up movie franchise and joining The Ellen DeGeneres Show — acknowledged in the video that his mom might have been “surprised” by his success.

“I think she was surprised, but then also, just really blessed,” he said. “You know, any time you see hard work and sweat and tears and blurred cuss words rewarded, you know, I think that’s a good thing.”

Boss died by suicide in December 2022. An autopsy previously obtained by Us Weekly revealed there was no drugs or alcohol in Boss’ system at the time. Holker, however, told a different story while promoting her new book, This Far: My Story of Love, Loss and Embracing the Light.

“He was wrestling with a lot inside himself, and he was trying to self-medicate and cope with all those feelings because he didn’t want to put it on anyone because he loved everyone so much,” Holker — who was married to Boss for nearly 10 years before his death — told People last month. “He didn’t want other people to take on his pain.”

Along with alleging that Boss experienced childhood sexual abuse, Holker claimed she discovered a “cornucopia” of drugs in his closet, including mushrooms, pills and “other substances” she wasn’t familiar with.

“It was a really triggering moment for me because there were a lot of things I discovered in our closet that I did not know existed,” she claimed. “There was so much happening that I had no clue [about].”

Holker’s book officially hit shelves earlier this month. Boss Alexander previously stated via Instagram that she was “appalled by the misleading and hurtful claims made about my son,” adding, “The recent publications spreading untruths about Stephen have crossed every line of decency.”

Boss’ mother and brother Drè Rose appeared on a recent episode of CBS Mornings, where Rose implied that drugs weren’t what caused Boss’ death. Boss’ family members later declared via Instagram that they intend to “seek legal counsel” regarding the “unproven statements published in Allison’s memoir.”

Holker has not publicly addressed the potential legal battle, but she has previously defended her book despite facing widespread backlash. She issued a statement regarding the family’s CBS Mornings interview earlier this month.

“Connie has and will continue to be a positive and loving figure in Maddox and Zaia’s lives,” she said, referring to the children she shared with Boss. “From grandparents day at school, to family lunches, ice cream dates and Cameron’s video game meetups with Maddox, we hope to continue these traditions over the years and work together to keep Stephen’s memory alive.”
