‘Blue Bloods’ Is Getting a Spinoff
Donnie Wahlberg will be starring in a Blue Bloods offshoot titled Boston Blue, CBS announced on February 18, 2025. The show will center on the actor’s character, NYPD officer Danny Reagan, as he takes a position with Boston PD. It’s slated to premiere during the 2025-2026 broadcast season.
It’s unclear if Tom — who played Donnie’s dad — will be making any cameos, but he expressed interest in reprising his Blue Bloods role while speaking with Parade in a December 2024 interview.
“I’m open to suggestions because I love Frank Reagan, but nobody’s really asked. I don’t see him retiring and going off somewhere,” Tom told the outlet.
Tom Selleck Is Excited to Keep Working
The actor celebrated turning 80 years old on January 29, 2025, and has no plans for slowing down.
“I would love to do another comedy. The right kind of comedy,” Tom told Parade in December 2024. “Friends made people laugh and cry at times. That’s the kind of comedy I enjoy doing. Three Men and a Baby had that, too.”
