‘Today’ Hosts Make Bold Prediction About Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Engagement: ‘It’s Time’

The Today hosts are placing their bets on when Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce might take the next step in their relationship.

Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager have quite a reputation to uphold after correctly predicting the engagements of Hollywood stars like Zendaya and Tom Holland and Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco. As Hoda’s final episode of Today nears, she threw out one last prediction for a proposal between Travis and Taylor.

“Our final prediction on another couple [about to get engaged is] Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift!” the costars said in unison during the Tuesday, January 7, episode of Today.

“It’s happening,” Hoda, 60, said about the future proposal.

“We saw them at the US Open,” Jenna, 43, explained. “And we know their families have been together because we’ve seen it in boxes [at NFL games] and over the holidays,” Hoda said.

The former first daughter said that the NFL star and the “Cruel Summer” singer “support each other’s careers even though they’re both busy. It’s time.”

Hoda agreed with Jenna, echoing, “It’s time.” Viewers are going to miss Hoda and Jenna’s dynamic on the show when her final episode airs on January 10 after more than 17 years as a cohost. Still, fans can still expect to see her on NBC in some capacity that has yet to be announced.

Taylor and Travis, both 35, went public with their romance in September 2023 and have been going strong ever since. Most recently, they were spotted out on Saturday, December 28, for date night in New York City.

“I actually don’t know people who’ve gotten married in the fall, because all the weddings I’ve been to and all my friends always do it in the summer,” the athlete said during an episode of his “New Heights” podcast with brother Jason Kelce on Wednesday, January 8, after a caller asked about whether or not fall weddings conflict with football season.

“You gotta be willing to find a weekend where the team isn’t playing anybody good maybe,” Travis told the caller.

“Also, if you really do have a problem with that, maybe it’s in her best interest to not have it in the fall so that she knows you’re invested in the anniversary every time it comes around,” he explained. “I think you guys should duke that out.”

The Grotesquerie actor went on to say, “I’ve seen weddings in f–king February. I’ve seen weddings everywhere but the fall. So I’m not sure if the fall was a good wedding season.”

However, Jason, who is married to Kylie Kelce, had a differing opinion on the subject matter.

“Brother, I’m gonna tell you right now. Do the fall and the wedding and avoid this frivolous fight that means absolutely f–king nothing,” the retired NFL star said.

“You can watch the football game another [time], like, record it and watch it again,” Jason continued. “Like, I don’t know what you want me to say. There’s certain things that are more important than football, and if the wedding isn’t more important than football, we got some bigger issues here.”
