The Blood of Dawnwalker which is an upcoming game by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, the director of Witcher 3 and quest lead Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz has one exciting feature that will offer you a taste of the old days of gaming.

The duo has made sure to integrate the feeling of what it feels like to live like a creature of the night. A similar feature has done wonders for games like, Fallout: New Vegas and Elder Scrolls. The NPCs in the game will play a huge role in driving the narrative.
The Blood of Dawnwalker will let you kill important NPCs

Video games that allow you to kill NPCs have become a rarity now. Remember there was a time when the storyline could massively be impacted due to one wrong or right decision made by the player? This created an extra level of immersion which seems to be fading now.
However, The Blood of Dawnwalker is here to revive this feature by allowing you to kill really important NPCs that will have major effects on the storyline. Since you will be playing as a bloodthirsty Dawnwalker in the game, the game will present to you countless difficult situations where killing NPCs might seem like the only good option but players would need to control their urges or go ahead with the kill, both of which will have consequences.
The amount of freedom that players will be presented with will be restrictive. Not everybody in the game is a viable kill, however, there will be a lot of options and lore to find. During an interview with PC Gamer Tomaszkiewicz talked about the same, he said:
It’s a sandbox, meaning we’re trying to maximize your options of your choice in the game. Sometimes this can lead to alternate outcomes or even cut off certain questlines. You being a Dawnwalker means that you have this blood hunger during the night time, so this can actually lead to these NPCs dying if you’re not careful.
The Blood of Dawnwalker offers a unique approach to storytelling, by setting the game mostly during nighttime, it offers an intimate perspective of the life of a Dawnwalker which will be interesting to experience. The game promises a great adventure.
Player freedom plays a huge role in open-world games

Restrictive open-world games do not have the same emotional depth to immerse players since they largely focus on pushing you toward the main quest line. Tomaszkiewicz has decided to not develop the game on the same engine as The Witcher 3.
Whereas, games that offer complete player freedom with options to do whatever or kill whoever, the experience automatically becomes more intimate since you get to see the repercussions of misdeeds or bear the fruit of good deeds.
This intimate experience is what the duo wants to offer, The Blood of Dawnwalker is expected to be released next year. How do you feel about killing important NPCs in the game and directing the flow of a story according to your actions? Let us know in the comments below.
