An MCU feature is one of the biggest honors an actor can receive in this industry. Some of the biggest stars in present times owe at least part of their fame to Marvel’s universe, and WWE superstar Seth Rollins was very close to making the grade, as well.
However, as is true with MCU projects in general, Captain America: Brave New World, underwent a plethora of changes before being released globally. One of them, was the removal of Seth Rollins from the movie, as his role was cut for the inclusion of a certain Giancarlo Esposito.

WWE superstar Seth Rollins recently opened up about his removal from Captain America: Brave New World, revealing that his role was scrapped due to script changes.
Speaking on Not Just Football with Cam Heyward, Rollins disclosed that his scenes were filmed but ultimately cut, with his character repurposed for acclaimed actor Giancarlo Esposito.
I wasn’t going to talk about it too much because I never know what I can say, but I saw the director, Julius Onah—who’s a phenomenal dude—did an interview this week. They asked him about my role, what happened with it, and stuff like that, so I feel like I can talk about it a little more now.
Rollins went on to reveal that his role was repurposed for Esposito, who he called a “hell of an actor,” and we agree.
Rollins therefore, does not have hurt feelings, and revealed that the original script for the movie was nowhere close to the one they ended up going with.
Seth Rollins’ wife was also cut from an MCU project!
In a surprising revelation, Seth Rollins also shared that his wife, WWE star Becky Lynch, had a similar experience with Eternals. Lynch filmed a post-credit scene for the film, which was later removed, affecting the planned future of the franchise.
I had a great time filming with those guys—we did some really cool stuff that ended up on the cutting room floor. I hope somehow it lives on in Easter egg form somewhere. I’d love to see some of those shots. But yeah, man, they cut me. They cut me from the role. You know what? They cut the whole family!
Rollins revealed that Lynch was initially earmarked to appear in multiple Eternals movies. However, considering the dud that it proved to be, a potential franchise around Eternals appears to be a long way away.
