ITV has an exciting selection of shows for viewers to dive into from next month.
Here is a look at the new and returning programmes on the Channel during March.
A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story

The much anticipated show stars Bohemian Rhapsody actress Lucy Boynton as the nightclub manager who shot her lover David Blakely dead outside Hampstead’s Magdala pub in 1955.
It explores the ‘hidden story’ of Ruth Ellis, who at the age of 28 ran a venue in London‘s glamorous clubland.
But her life unravelled when she fell into an abusive relationship with racing driver Blakely and on Easter Sunday, April 10, 1955, she tracked him down to the pub in South Hill Park where he was drinking.
It is told over two parallel timelines and reveals facts about the case and the lead up to the killing that have remained hidden for decades.
It also follows Ellis’s arrest, trial and the subsequent legal fight to reprieve her before she was hanged by Albert Pierrepoint in Holloway Prison.

Protection

Protection is centred around a witness protection officer’s first-hand experiences – and what happens when the system breaks down.
Happy Valley‘s Siobhan Finneran’s character Detective Inspector Liz Nyles is exposed to a breach when an affair with a colleague leaves her compromised.
However, she’s determined to fight back and uncover the true source of corruption within her unit.
Her mission will take her deep into the heart of the criminal underbelly as she becomes more and more torn.
How will she balance her roles of caring for her family, her loyalty to her lover and her duty as a police officer?
Coronation Street star Katherine Kelly has also landed a role in the thriller alongside stars of Sex Education, Bad Sisters and Silent Witness.
The Bay
The hit crime show The Bay returns to our screens for a fifth season[/caption]
Marsha Thomason reprises her role as DS Jenn Townsend, alongside regulars Daniel Ryan, Erin Shanagher and Andrew Dowbiggin.
When 23-year-old university student Hannah is found dead on the edge of the docks, Morecambe’s MIU team has another case to solve.
Jenn, who is returning to work following the death of her father, pushes aside her own grief to support Hannah’s bitterly divided family.
With the stakes of the investigation high, Jenn and the team dig deeper into the case, uncovering hidden friendships and secret liaisons as anger rises in the student community.
As the team peel back the complicated layers of Hannah’s life and the secrets within it.
Jenn must reconcile her personal and professional struggles as she grapples to solve the case, come to terms with her own loss, and build bridges with her family.
The Oscars

The 97th Oscars will be held on Sunday 2nd March and will be televised live in more than 200 territories worldwide.
Emmy Award-winning television host and comedian Conan O’Brien will host the star studded event.
Deemed to be one of the closest and most thrilling Oscar races ever, movie fans should be in for an exciting evening.
Halle Berry, Penélope Cruz, Elle Fanning, Whoopi Goldberg, Scarlett Johansson, John Lithgow, Amy Poehler, June Squibb and Bowen Yang are expected to present awards.
And the 10 nominees for best picture are: Anora, The Brutalist, A Complete Unknown, Conclave, Dune: Part 2, Emilia Pérez; I’m Still Here, Nickel Boys, The Substance and Wicked.
The Brit Awards

The Brit Awards are about to get a lot funnier, as Jack Whitehall has agreed to return as host.
The beloved comedian is coming back for a fifth time as frontman for the ceremony, being held at London’s O2 Arena on March 1.
Harriet Rose and Munya Chawawa will get the party started ahead of the ceremony by hosting The Brits 2025: The Warm-Up on ITV2 and ITVX.
Leading nominations with five nods is Charli XCX, whose sixth album Brat was a viral hit last year.
Dua Lipa closely follows with four nominations – along with 2024 rising star winners The Last Dinner Party, and 2023 Mercury Prize winners Ezra Collective.
Performing at this year’s awards are JADE, Myles Smith, Shaboozey, Teddy Swims and The Last Dinner Party.
Also performing is Sabrina Carpenter, who will take to the stage off the back of winning the award for global success.
