Though the absolute dominance of the Call of Duty franchise has waned since its peak in the early 2010s, it’s still going strong today. However, the big difference these days is that not only does it have competition, but its competition is actively trying to shake things up and try new things, meaning there are fewer and fewer games that are a lot like Call of Duty anymore.
