MET Eireann has issued a Status Red weather warning for two counties as Storm Bert prepares to make landfall.
And the Status Yellow rain warning that was put in place for the entire country yesterday ahead of the wicked weather has been upgraded to a Status Orange alert for Waterford, Kerry, Clare, Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim.

A Status Red alert warns of “rare and very dangerous” weather conditions from “intense meteorological phenomena”.
Met Eireann said anyone in the counties who have been placed under the warning should take action to protect themselves and their property.
And follow instructions and advice given by the authorities under “all circumstances”.
People are also warned to be prepared for “exceptional circumstances”.
