BEFORE she was a successful podcast host and media personality, Sophie Habboo was just another new cast member on Made In Chelsea trying to make a name for herself.
The 30-year-old recalled the step she took to fit in that ended up costing her 20 times her paycheque.

Speaking on her podcast Wednesdays, Sophie recounted the embarrassing moment to her co-host and fellow MIC alum Melissa Tattam.
She explained how she prepped her wardrobe before her first day of filming back in 2017.
Sophie revealed the misconception she had about what was worn on set.
“So when I first joined Made In Chelsea, I thought everyone wore real designer, which of course some people did but a lot of people were wearing PrettyLittleThing,” she told listeners.
Hoping to look high-end and professional, the then 23-year-old splurged on a designer dress for her first filmed event.
She recalled how she browsed Net-A-Porter until she found the perfect look, which set her back £1,000.
And while MIC cast mates are notoriously posh and well off, this wasn’t the case for Sophie, also known as Habbs, at the time.
“So there’s me, we were on £50 a day, I think ‘I’m just going to keep the tag on it’,” Sophie shared.
She explained that she showed up to set already glammed up, another thing she got wrong in the early days.
“I turned up in my dress, which is not the done thing, you turn up in trackies and Uggs and then change,” she said.
“No one tells you, I’m in heels at 9:00 AM and as I’m walking up the stairs.”
Sophie recalled how she had her mic on and was ready to go, thinking her tag was safely tucked away.
However, a seemingly helpful producer spotted the tag while walking behind Sophie.
“[He] goes: ‘Oh, you’ve got your tag still in’ and rips it out of my dress,” she said.
Sophie explained how she was still stunned from the encounter as she filmed her first scene.

She described the moment as “unbearable” to think about to this day.
“I was 23 and was like ‘I just don’t have that [money]’,” she told her audience.
She revealed that she had to call her dad begging for his forgiveness for the error.
Sophie went on to appear in nine seasons of the show, where she met her now husband Jamie Laing.
