Shock as Scottish Premiership top scorer’s car stolen from driveway – and it’s got a very distinctive registration plate

A SCOTTISH PREMIERSHIP star has asked fans to keep their eyes peeled after revealing his car was stolen from his driveway.

St Johnstone striker Nicky Clark – who’s also turned out for Rangers, Aberdeen, Dunfermline and Dundee Utd during his career – says that his Volkswagen was taken from his drive in Dundee on Wednesday night.

He wrote on X: “Car stolen from driveway in Dundee last night

“Reg number N16 CRK keep an eye out.”

The personalised registration plate essentially spells out the striker’s name.

Clark, 33, is currently joint TOP goalscorer in the Scottish top flight.

His five goals put him level with Celtic captain Callum McGregor, injured Aberdeen frontman Pape Gueye and his St Johnstone team-mate Benjamin Kimpioka at the top of the scoring charts.

It’s a surprise quartet alright – with a controversial Clark goal giving Simo Valakari his first victory as Saints boss.

Pictures of the 89th minute flash-point were INCONCLUSIVE following two handball shouts and an offside claim against the goalscorer.

That led to a check of more than six and a half minutes before the goal was confirmed.

And the reason was outlined: “It was not possible to properly draw the lines for possible offside against Nicky Clark.

“Clark’s body was blocked by other players on the camera, so they couldn’t get the body part clearly to accurately draw the line.

“So referee Kevin Clancy was called across to look at the angles himself.

“He agreed with the on-field call that it was onside. Had the goal been ruled out, St Johnstone would have been given a penalty anyway against Simon Murray, before Clark stuck it home.”
