“She kept touching her”: Blake Lively’s Backstage Video With Amy Schumer Is Weirder Than Ryan Reynolds’ Joke About Justin Baldoni Lawsuit for Some Critics

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have successfully made it back to the news after the recently held SNL 50. While troubles have been hounding the couple for the past few months, their legal battle against Justin Baldoni taking new turns everyday has only added to that.

In fact, it seems like everyday something comes to light that turns the fans on them even more. Something similar happened during the SNL 50 anniversary celebration.

While Reynolds’ joke about their ongoing legal troubles failed to hit the mark, Lively herself raised eyebrows with her conduct. Although for her, it’s not a joke but a backstage clip of her and Amy Schumer that fans are finding weird.

The Saturday Night Live 50th anniversary celebration had many memorable moments. While the event was special on its own for achieving such a big milestone, the guests who were present at the ceremony also added their charm to it.

However, fans seemingly weren’t pleased with the attendance of every guest at the event. Many people seemingly disapproved of Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively marking their grand attendance at SNL 50 in the middle of their ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni.

Reynolds joking, “Why, what have you heard?” when he was asked how he was doing also came off as distasteful to many. In a recent video, Kjersti Flaa delved deep into the couple’s demeanor at the event with Stephanie Tleiji.

In it, Tleiji criticized Reynolds’ joke saying, “This is supposed to be your wife who has filed s*xual harassment allegations, this isn’t a joke”.

However, what they both found weirder was how Lively conducted herself at the event. They pointed out that nobody even smiled at the Deadpool star’s tactless humor other than Lively.

What seemingly caught their attention even more, though, was how Blake Lively behaved while “saying hello” to Amy Schumer. According to Kjersti Flaa, their meeting was beyond awkward because of how insistent the actress seemed to be.

It was so awkward. She was just like, ‘hi, hi’. And she kept touching her, like, you know, ‘you’re on my side, aren’t you?’.

Tleiji also noted that maybe Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s presence at the show was nothing but a PR tactic. The purpose of which was to show that “Hollywood is on their side”.

However, she also stated that in the past year many people have “woken up” to their reality, so the chances of these tactics working are slim.

Blake Lively was reportedly nervous about her SNL 50 appearance

While Blake Lively seemed cheery at the SNL 50 anniversary celebration, she was reportedly hiding her nerves behind her brilliant smile. As per People, a source claimed that Lively was “nervous” about her first big appearance in public after her legal battle began with It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni in December.

However, the source also noted that she was equally “excited to be out with friends and support Saturday Night Live”.

They had a great time. It was nice getting out of the house and being around friends and familiar faces.

According to the source, the couple stayed behind after the show’s filming wrapped to mingle with their fellow industry people. From Ben Stiller to Paul McCartney, the couple reportedly spent time chatting up everyone at the studio.

They spent time talking with Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson too. Blake also chatted with Dakota Johnson.

Well, PR tactic or not, their presence definitely made the event much more interesting. For now, though, Blake Lively is set to appear in Another Simple Favor with Anna Kendrick.

The upcoming movie is a sequel to their 2018 movie A Simple Favor, which fans widely appreciated. As such, it’ll be interesting to see how fans react to the sequel once it hits Prime Video in May.

SNL 50: The Anniversary Special is streaming on Peacock.
