The next episode of Shangri-La Frontier season 2 (episode 20, releasing on 23rd February) is going to be another banger! Sunraku and the gang will finally clash head-on once again with Ctarnidd of the Abyss, and it has to be one of the best!
Although the game designers claimed it’s the weakest colossus apparently, they planned for players to tackle it first. But it’s still gonna be a tough fight. However, knowing Sunraku, he must have got some tricks up his sleeve and will be able to take down Ctarnidd and emerge victorious.
But there are certain pieces of information about Ctarnidd of the Abyss that they need to remember while going against it. So, what are they?

Even after being the weakest, Ctarnidd, one of the seven colossi in Shangri-La Frontier, has a pretty unique skill set and these are quite annoying, to say the least. It has two bodies, each with its own health bar and attack patterns, so it can feel like fighting two bosses at once.
These twin bodies are like two peas in a pod, working together like a well-oiled machine. They’ll react to your movements and coordinate their attacks to take you down, so you’ll need to keep an eye on both of them at the same time! Defeating one body won’t be enough, since the other one will just revive it after a short while.
So if one wants to beat Ctarnidd, they will have to maintain a balance between each attack. They’ll need to make sure to dish out damage to both bodies at a steady rate. It won’t be like other boss fights where you can just focus all your fire on one target, as Ctarnidd punishes that kind of one-sided aggression.
So, whether you’re playing solo or with a team, one has to be precise and coordinated in their attacks. It’s a tough puzzle to solve, but with the right strategy, Sunraku might just be able to take down this bifurcated beast!
Why Ctarnidd of the Abyss should be feared
As the ruler of the underwater city and with its Power of Reverse, Ctarnidd can flip everything upside down, like gravity, vision, light, stats, and even gender! Although it has this crazy power, if undisturbed, Ctarnidd usually chills around in its octopus form, with its large tentacles.
But Ctarnidd is not just a one-trick pony. When it’s time to throw down, this underwater boss can change its form to 15 different variations, including a humanoid one that’s almost as tall as the player! While encounters with Ctarnidd might be rare, the developers of the game were always planning to give players a chance to take on Ctarnidd first. But Sunraku beating Wethermon of the Tombguard first crashed their systems!
