MUCH to the delight of fans, the Royal Variety performance is back for another year.
Fans can expect a star-studded event, which is watched by millions. Here’s what is happening at the biggest show of the year.
Each year the Royal Variety Performance is presented in aid of the Royal Variety Charity.
The spectacular showcase includes a mix of music, comedy, and entertainment for all to enjoy.
The performances on the night include everything from singers to comedians, to magicians and dance acts.
The origins of the Royal Variety Performance date back to 1912, with the event now watched by over 152 million TV viewers worldwide.
Every year a member or two of the British royal family attends the prestigious performance.
In its very first year, the Royal Variety Performance saw King George V and Queen Mary in attendance.
Show time
The star-studded show will be held TONIGHT (November 22, 2024), and will take place at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall.
In 2021, the gala took place at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith for the first time in 14 years.
Previous Royal Variety Performances have been held at the London Coliseum, London Palladium, the Dominion Theatre, Blackpool’s Opera House Theatre, and the Lyceum.
Royal Variety Performance host
As viewers tune in to watch the Royal Variety Performance, they will be welcomed Amanda Holden and Alan Carr.
Amanda said: “It feels like a pinnacle of my career, I’m not going to lie.”
While Alan said: “I am completely thrilled to be asked back to host the Royal Variety Performance so soon, what a compliment and an honour!”
In 2023, Bradley Walsh hosted the show, and in 2022, Not Going Out’s Lee Mack took on the hosting duties for the event, which paid special tribute to the late Queen.
Star Performer
The show is jam-packed with entertainment, which will include the reigning Britain’s Got Talent winner Sydnie Christmas
Other highlights include the Devil Wear Prada’s West End cast, a performance from Starlight Express and Cirque du Soleil.
The cast of the Christmas Cracker will also put on a show.
Also performances from Eurovision winner Nemo, Brit Award-winner James Bay and disco diva Sophie Ellis-Bextor, who will be performing her latest hit and Murder on The Dance Floor.
Superstar magicians Penn and Teller will also be putting on a showstopper.

The Royal Variety Performance is attended by senior members of the royal family.
The show traditionally begins with the royals making their way into the venue, followed by the singing of the national anthem.
For the 2024 Variety Show, King Charles and Queen Camilla will attend for the first time as monarchs.

The show is pre-recorded and will be broadcast at a later time, with the date to still be confirmed.
When it airs, viewers will be able to watch it on ITV.
