LILY Allen has admitted she has “been spiralling” since her shock break-up with her husband David Harbour and is “going away” to a facility.

The singer, 39, says she has suffered crippling panic attacks sparked by her heartbreak so is heading off for several weeks to deal with her “pain”.

Lily has not confirmed exactly where she is going but has reassured fans she will not be checking into a drug rehab centre, adding: “I’ve not relapsed.”

Speaking about her emotions on her Miss Me podcast, the mum-of-two did say that her phone will be banned.

Lily admitted to her podcast co-star and best friend Miquita Oliver: “I’m finding it really hard to be interested in anything. I’m really not in a good place.

“I know I’ve been talking about it for months but I’ve been spiralling and spiralling and spiralling and it’s got out of control.

“I came to the Miss Me Christmas lunch and had a panic attack and had to go home. I went to see something at the theatre the other night with my friends Carla and Claire and I had to leave at half time.

“I can’t concentrate on anything except the pain that I’m going through.”

The star, who married Stranger Things actor David in 2020, continued: “It’s really hard. I’m going away next week. You’re not going to hear me for a few weeks, listeners.

“I do want to reassure people because there will be speculation because of the amount of time that I’m going to be taking away, that I’m going to drug rehab – I’m not. I’ve not relapsed.”

Lily told Miquita that she’s looking forward to getting rid of her phone.

“They’re not doing us any good,” Lily said. “They’re certainly not doing me any good at the moment. I really don’t like my phone.”

Miquita told Lily that she “shouldn’t be on it,” to which Lily said she believed ‘no one’ should have a phone and that devices should “go in the bin”.

“I think social media has f***ed us. I think that it’s f***ed democracy, it’s f***ed everything, it’s f***ed the arts, it’s f***ed everything and we need to put them in the bin,” Lily said.

“We’re not talking to each other anymore. We’re not talking to each other on the streets, we’re not smiling at each other, we’re not doing what human beings are supposed to be doing and I’m as guilty of that as anyone else.

“This is the one thing I’m very excited about where I’m going the next few weeks is that I’m not allowed my phone.”

News of Lily’s shock split with Hollywood star David emerged just before Christmas.

The pair had married in a whirlwind ceremony in Las Vegas four years ago, but reports claimed they had been living virtually separate lives for months.

It was also reported that Lily – who has quit her foot fetish account on OnlyFans – had been spotted on the celebrity dating app Raya.

However, this week, sources claimed Lily only reactivated her Raya account to keep tabs on David after discovering him on there.

A source told the Mail: “Lily only rejoined Raya to try to figure out whether he was seeing someone.

David’s alleged profile on the app shows the cartoon silhouette of what appears to be him smoking.

He states he’s an actor living in Atlanta but originally from New York and has the tag line: “Closet nerd that plays tough guys on your TV.”

His profile song is Led Zeppelin’s Houses of the Holy.

Raya is strictly managed, with only around 8 per cent of applicants successful and 100,000 people on its waiting list.

Lily has two children, Ethel, 13, and Marnie, 11, who she shares with ex Sam Cooper.

She told Miquita how her girls are bringing her “joy” during the difficult moments – but that being a single mum again is “really hard”.

“I can say, it’s really tough – they are always there and you have to be present and there for them,” Lily added.

“And that’s okay, when things in life are going well and you’re coping it’s really nice to have the kids around they’re a joy. 

“One of the main sources of joy in one’s life. But when things are not going so well and life is tough, as it is for many people for all manner of reasons, having to hold things together is really hard.”

EVERY year thousands of Irish cars fail the NCT – and here’s the motors most likely to leave without road clearance.

In 2024, over 1.7 million National Car Tests were carried out with nearly half of those vehicles failing the full test.

And recent data from CarTakeBack revealed the makes of cars with the highest failure rate.

Among the makes that were put through the test, Chevrolet had the highest failure rate, with 72 per cent of its vehicles failing – mainly due to steering and suspension issues.

Daihatsu wasn’t far behind, with 63 per cent of their vehicles failing, again due to steering and suspension problems.

Chrysler followed closely, with 62 per cent of its models failing primarily for issues also related to steering and suspension.

Citroen had a 61 per cent failure rate, but its most common problem was lighting and electrical faults rather than suspension issues.

Fiat’s vehicles also had a 54 per cent failure rate, with steering and suspension problems topping the list of reasons why they failed the NCT.

Alfa Romeo, another brand with a 54 per cent failure rate, saw most of its failures due to lighting and electrical issues.

Peugeot also struggled with lighting and electrical faults and had a 54 per cent failure rate.

Ford vehicles had a 53 per cent failure rate, with lighting and electrical defects being the most common cause.

Renault had a 53 per cent failure rate as well, with lighting and electrical faults making up the majority of the reasons for failure.

Nissan had a 53 per cent failure rate, with steering and suspension being the top reason for failing.

Top 10 reasons

The number one reason cars fail the NCT is steering and suspension problems, accounting for 15 per cent of all failures.

Lighting and electrical faults closely follow, contributing to 14.2 per cent of all NCT failures.

Vehicles failing the slip slide test came in third, with 12.3 per cent of cars failing due to traction issues.

Wheels and tyres were the fourth most common reason, with 9.9 per cent of vehicles failing the test for problems related to tyres or alignment.

The fifth most common reason for failure is the brake test, responsible for 9.5 per cent of all NCT failures.

Braking equipment problems also made the list, contributing to 7.4 per cent of vehicle failures.

Issues related to the light test came in seventh, accounting for 7.2 per cent of failures.

Vehicle and safety equipment concerns were the eighth most common reason for failing the test, making up 6.5 per cent of all NCT failures.

Suspension-related problems were the ninth most common failure, accounting for 4.9 per cent of issues.

Finally, engine, noise, and exhaust problems round out the list, accounting for 4.3 per cent of all NCT failures.

Top 5 NCT failure hot-spots

Cavan was the top test centre for NCT failures in 2024, with 61 per cent of vehicles failing their tests, a total of 1.8k vehicles.

Carrick-on-Shannon also made the list with a high percentage of failures at 10 per cent.

Ennis followed closely behind, also with a 10 per cent failure rate for cars tested there.

Monaghan saw 9 per cent of its vehicles fail their NCT tests, marking it as another hotspot for failures.

Cahirciveen, with 9 per cent of its vehicles failing, also made the list of failure hotspots.

EMMERDALE appears to have kicked off a major new affair storyline in tonight’s bombshell episode.

Kim was rushed to hospital where she discovered she’d been drugged with ketamine – but in a surprising turn she told the police she had taken it herself and covered for Dawn.

And she told Joe that she wanted to forget it all and move on so they could grieve as a family.

Returning to Home Farm, Joe told Dawn: “Look Dawn, you should try to forget about what happened today and Kim will do the same.”

But she confessed that she’d already told Billy who hadn’t taken it particularly well – and surprisingly Joe comforted her.

“From what I’ve heard, you’ve had a pretty rough year,” he said.

“With your son, your dad and your mum. I think it’s understandable that you’d do something a little crazy.”

He added: “I’ve been exactly where you are right now.

“You know what I tried to do to Charity. All that anger that you’re feeling, it’s just another word for hurt and upset. I didn’t know that at the time but I do now.

“Lashing out and taking it out on everyone around you, it doesn’t solve anything. It’s not going to fill the hole that he left behind. I wish it did.”

“I just wanted someone to blame,” said Dawn.

Joe told her: “It’s always harder when there isn’t anyone.”

Dawn replied: “Thank you for today. I don’t know what I would’ve done if you hadn’t been there.”

“You made a mistake,” aid Joe.

“It’s OK, we’ve all been there. It doesn’t change who you are on the inside. I know that more than anyone.”

And with that Dawn leaned in to kiss him and the pair shared a brief kiss – but it was clear Joe was pleased with the result.

Dawn jumped into her apologies but he reassured her.

“It’s OK,” Joe said, getting up to leave. “Maybe lie to Billy about this one?”

THREE Irish celebrities have been nominated for the prestigious Screen Actors Guild Awards..

The 31st Annual SAG awards are due to take place on Sunday, February 23, 2025.

In-person nominations for the prestigious awards show were due to take place yesterday, but were cancelled.

As wildfires ripped through much of North Los Angeles, the nominations were scrapped and instead announced through a press release.

Nominations were due to be read out by actors Kooper Koch and Joey King.

Despite the setback, three Irish stars emerged triumphant as they secured themselves nods in their respective categories.

Following his victorious Golden Globe win, Colin Farrell could be set to pick up another award with his nod in Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series, for his show, The Penguin.

Competing against Colin in this category is fellow Irish heart-throb Andrew Scott, who is up for the SAG with his leading role in Netflix’s Ripley.

Elsewhere in their category, the pair are up against Baby Reindeer’s Richard Gadd, Monster’s Javier Bardem and Disclaimer’s Kevin Kline.

Rounding off the Irish nominations for this year is former Derry Girls star, Nicola Coughlan.

Nicola is nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series, for her role as Penelope Featherington in the third season of Bridgerton.

The 38-year-old faces some stiff competition in her category as she is up against Kathy Bates, Keri Russell, Allison Janney and Anna Sawai – who took home the Golden Globe in this category on Sunday.

Nicola’s show Bridgerton is also up for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, giving it just two nominations, while Colin Farrell’s The Penguin picked up three.

Some notable Irish absences from the film nominations this year was Saoirse Ronan for her roles in both The Outrun and Blitz, along with Paul Mescal for his role in Gladiator ii.

Upon the cancellation of the live nominations the SAG awards organisers released a statement.

They said: “In an abundance of caution for the safety of our presenters, guests, and staff, the live in-person 31st Annual SAG Awards nominations announcement has been cancelled due to the wildfires and adverse wind conditions in Los Angeles.”

The 31st annual Screen Actors Guild Awards are due to take place on February 23, and will be streamed live on Netflix worldwide.

Kristen Bell will be hosting the awards, while Jane Fonda will be presented with the Life Achievement Award, the guild’s highest honor.

Stephen (The Irishman, Help, Time) is an executive producer as well as a star in the new show, which centres around Sugar Goodson, a seasoned boxer who becomes embroiled in an intense rivalry that extends far beyond the ring.

The new images show Stephen’s face contorting with rage in the middle of a crucial match, as he lifts a fist to deliver a blow.

Joining Stephen on screen are BAFTA-winning actor Malachi Kirby and The Crown’s Erin Doherty.

Malachi takes on the role of Hezekiah Moscow, a Jamaican immigrant navigating the brutal streets of post-industrial revolution London’s East End.

Erin plays Mary Carr, the formidable leader of The Forty Elephants, a notorious all-female gang fighting for survival in this perilous world.

One of the images released features six women from The Forty Elephants who are staring fiercely into the camera with an unwavering gaze.

Some of them are hiking up their skirts to expose their petticoats, potentially as a way to demonstrate that they do not care about the constraints of ‘proper’ society.

Another snap shows Malachi Kirby gearing up for a fight with both of his fists raised while still decked in full formal wear including a shirt, bowtie, and waistcoat.

Elsewhere, he is photographed looking anxiously into the boxing ring and appears disturbed by what he sees.

Steven Knight, the lead writer for the series, has expressed his passion for the project.

He shared: “The love and care that went into this thrilling production is evident on screen from the first moment.

“What makes the story we tell all the more compelling is that it is based on the lives of real people who lived extraordinary lives in extraordinary times.”

Interestingly, it was the lead actor himself who came up with the concept for A Thousand Blows, before pitching the idea to Steven.

Steven revealed the show’s origin story, saying: “He [Stephen] contacted me and said, ‘Would you write an hour on this?’ I said, ‘Alright then.’ Then it got picked up, and it’s all in production now.”

The gripping series is set to premiere on Disney+ next year, with reports suggesting that a second season is already in development.
