Chilling moment stalker kicks colleague’s door armed with condoms after threatening to rape her when she rejected him

THIS is the chilling moment a stalker armed with condoms hammered at a colleague’s door after threatening to rape her when she rejected him.

Karl Chads launched a twisted campaign against Grace Smith despite the pair meeting just three times.

The 42-year-old bombarded her with abusive messages and broke into her London home.

He also told her boyfriend Daryl: “I’m a gangster, I’ll rape her in front of you and blow your head off.”

Eerie footage shows Chads showing up at Grace’s home in the dead of night and smashing his fist against the front door.

The stalker, who had seven condoms stuffed in his trousers, eventually broke in through a bathroom window and stole her teenage journal.

Bid writer Grace has now spoken out after Chads was jailed for 13 years for stalking with fear of violence.

The judge branded him “dangerous” as he was also sentenced for burglary, criminal damage and trespassing with the intent to commit a relevant sexual offence.

Grace, 31, said: “During Karl’s campaign of harassment I felt unsafe and feared for my life. Terrified he’d kidnap and rape me.

“Knowing he’s now behind bars gives me some comfort. Thankfully he’s finally off the streets, unable to harm anyone else.”

The pair first met in October 2022 when Chads joined her workplace but only occasionally spoke on Microsoft Teams meetings.

Grace thought he was a “bit of an oddball” and even joked to a pal he was “probably a serial killer” due to his strange demeanour.

In May 2023, the co-workers attended a meeting in Birmingham and later made small talk on the train back to London.

The pair next met again two months later at a team building team, where Grace noticed Chads staring at her.

But they did not come face-to-face again until October last year when their team were awarded afternoon tea at The Ritz.

Grace said: “While there, the topic of dating apps came up.

“I explained to colleagues that’s was how I met my boyfriend, Daryl.

“I noticed Karl’s face drop. He seemed disappointed.”

Grace later handed her colleague her phone number, only for Chads to reveal he had feelings for her.

She said she told him she was flattered but in a relationship, which led to a “barrage of insults” from Chads.

The spurned stalker branded her a “below-stairs type” and accused Grace of leading him on.

Chads then ramped up his abuse campaign and even posted a private chat between the pair on a shared work platform.

Grace flagged it to her manager but Chads continued to bombard her with calls and texts – leading the writer to call police.

She said: “They told me they could charge him with malicious communications if he failed to cease contact. And that was that.”

During a trip to Prague to attend her cousin’s wedding, Chads made a defamatory post on LinkedIn trying to sabotage her job.

Terrified, Grace’s boyfriend moved in and the couple reported all of Chads’ messages to the police but no action was taken.

Obsessed Chads eventually resigned from the workplace but continued to harass Grace – even sending her a parcel at her home containing a Alexander McQueen purse and a creepy note.

This read: “I thought we had the potential to develop into a friendship and relationship one day.”

Aware that Chads now had her address, Grace and boyfriend Daryl practised jiu jitsu moves to learn how to defend themselves.

They also installed a doorbell camera, which captured the stalker prowling around outside before breaking in.

Grace said: “I arrived home to smashed up pipes, broken windows. My clothes were ripped up and strewn across the garden.”

Chads was arrested at the scene with two glasses and a bottle of wine in his backpack and the condoms in his pocket.

As well as a jail sentence, he was also handed an indefinite restraining order banning contact with Grace.

She said: “At his sentencing, I faced him down, bravely read my impact statement and took back control.

“Now I want to encourage other survivors of stalking to collate evidence, keep records. Listen to your gut.

“In the end, I was forced to take charge and fight for justice. And I won.”

Youth spotted ‘fleeing with machete’ after boy, 14, stabbed to death on bus – as killer STILL on loose two days later

TWO young men were spotted “fleeing with a machete” after a 14-year-old boy was fatally stabbed on a bus – as the killer remains at large two days later.

Vince Seesarun, 31, a manager at a nearby estate agent, saw CCTV footage of the youths, who he said “couldn’t even be 18” – with one carrying a “massive machete“.

Mary Bokassa said her son was ‘very caring’[/caption]

He said he saw them running away from the scene where Kelyan Bokassa was fatally stabbed in Woolwich Church Street.

He added: “The footage basically shows two boys frantically running, no coverings (on their faces), massive machete about the size of my forearm.”

He said they ran past one of the orange and grey high-rise flat blocks overlooking Woolwich Church Street, towards the Thames Path which runs alongside the river.

The two boys ran out of view of the CCTV camera towards the river and when they appeared in range of a second camera, they no longer had the weapon, he claimed.

He said footage then showed them walking east along the riverside path.

“Something happens. There’s the object gone after, then they were just calmly walking – that was the craziest part”, he said.

He added: “I’m sure” people could recognise them because of their lack of disguise.”

Keen footballer Kelyan died at the scene in Woolwich, south-east London, shortly before 2.30pm on Tuesday.

His mum described her teenage son as “caring” in a poignant tribute.

She said Kelyan lived on the streets in London for a year where he was groomed by gangs and “exposed to drugs” before his death.

Fighting back tears, Mary Bokassa, 50, told The Sun: “He was very caring. He cares about people and had a good sense of humour.

“He was very polite. He was interested in football and was a supporter of Arsenal.

“We had to move around and he was in care, he was there for four years with no progress. I begged for contact with my son.

“I had to get the support of a lawyer. He was missing for a year and was living on the street.

“He finally turned up at my doorstep, he was sick, underweight and tattooed.

The mum said her young son was then “taken advantage of” by local gangs.

She added: “He was exposed to drugs. He probably experienced something because I could sense it.

“He was not himself. If I questioned him he wouldn’t tell me anything about his friends.

“My son and others were taken advantage by gangs. They were groomed.”

Mary continued: “He lived in the streets for a year after he ran away from the children’s home.

“But when he came home wrote graffiti on the balcony to say he loved me.”

Kelyan is said to have been on his way to Woolwich Town Hall to see his social worker on what was his first day back at school when he was stabbed to death.

It comes as dozens of tributes have been made for the teen online, with the hashtag Long Live Kelyan (LLK) seen across TikTok and Instagram.

Kelyan attended St Columba’s Catholic Boys’ School in Bexleyheath, south-east London, which was opened by former Conservative Tory prime minister Ted Heath in 1973.

No arrests have yet been made in connection with his death, with an urgent police manhunt ongoing.

Pals of the boy have said he was “taken too soon” and described him as a keen footballer.

One pal said: “Kelyan was a good friend. He was liked by lots of people and was devoted to doing his music thing.

“He didn’t deserve to die.”

Another said: “I knew him he was a nice guy, very energetic, a decent guy, he will be missed.”

The horror unfolded on a Route 472 bus in Woolwich Church Road, near the junction with the A205 South Circular Road, at around 2.30pm.

Officers attended, along with London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.

Paramedics treated a 14-year-old boy at the scene who had received stab wound injuries, but he sadly died soon after.

A Met spokesperson said: “Following Kelyan’s tragic death yesterday, specialist officers are now leading the investigation which is progressing at pace.

“The incident happened shortly before 14:30hrs on a route 472 bus on Woolwich Church Street, SE18 at the Woolwich Ferry bus stop.

“If anyone saw this horrific attack or was in the area then I urge them to come forward and speak to officers.

“We’re particularly interested in any mobile phone footage that captured this incident or any dash cam or doorbell footage from around the surrounding area at the time of this incident.

“I know this is an incredibly worrying time for those in Woolwich, and there will continue to be an enhanced police presence in the area.

“Our thoughts remains with Kelyan’s family, who are being supported by specialist officers at this difficult time.”

There has been no arrests and enquiries continue.

If anyone witnessed the incident or has any information which may help, they are urged to call police on 101 with reference 3795/07JAN25.

They can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Incredible 3m-year-old VEG PEELERS used by world’s oldest ‘humans’ like half-ape ‘Lucy’ discovered…& they’re STILL sharp

UNBELIEVABLE three-million-year-old razor-sharp vegetable peelers used by the world’s oldest humans have been discovered.

The innovative tools were made from smashing stones together – and were also likely used to cut off the flesh of prey.

The peelers have significant context for early human technology[/caption]

Archaeologists unearthed the tools in an area of Africa dubbed “the cradle of humankind”.

Kenya’s Homa peninsula is home to various artefacts representative of early humanity – including the famous remains of Lucy – a half-ape-half-human.

In November 1974, the skeleton of a small female was discovered and nicknamed Lucy.

Lucy is part of the genus Australopithecus – a group of small-bodied and small-brained early hominin, or human, species that walked upright in short distances.

Research later found that Lucy would have had a mixture of ape-like and human-body features.

Now experts have discovered the small knives known as flakes in the historical area.

Archaeologist Tom Plummer and his colleagues believe the incredible finds are the oldest recorded stone utility on record.

Part of an Oldowan tool kit, the tools are a glimpse into the people who lived in the region some 3 million years ago and how they lived.

And what’s more the peeling tools are said to be as sharp now as they would have been when they were first made.

Plummer told CBS: “I think the Oldowan technology is probably the most important technological innovation that ever happened in human history.

Who is 'Lucy'?

LUCY, the famous Australopithecus afarensis fossil, was found in Hadar, Ethiopia, in 1974.

Her 40 per cent-complete skeleton, dating back a whopping 3.2 million years, have provided breakthrough insights into human evolution.

Lucy’s significance comes from the incredible combination of ape-like and human-like features she exhibits.

Her small skull and long arms are reminiscent of apes – while her pelvis, spine, and knee structure clearly indicate bipedalism – the ability to walk upright, a defining human characteristic.

What’s more, Lucy shows that walking upright evolved before significant brain development.

Although Lucy was bipedal, current research suggests A. afarensis may have also spent time in trees as well as on ground.

Standing about 1.05 metres tall, Lucy was a young adult when she died, possibly from a fall.

The discovery revolutionised the understanding of human origins and even continues to shape evolutionary studies.

“It allowed [the pre-human ancestors] to access a whole array of foods that they would never have had access to before.”

The expert added that the dietary changes likely led to needed evolutionary changes to the body, including brain growth.

Plummer said that it may have created a higher class of early humans who began “doing more with technology”.

Rick Potts, the Smithsonian human origins program leader who led research in the area, also said the breakthrough discovery reveals important context into the species’ history.

He said: “We are the last biped standing, as I call it.

“All of those other ways of life became extinct.

“And so that gives us a lot to think about, and it draws attention to the fragility of life, even in our own journey through time.”
