“My client should go right to f—king jail”: P. Diddy’s Lawyer Dropping Him Is Life Imitating Art That Al Pacino Made 46 Years Ago in His Most Intense Role

It is true when they say that life imitates art and this has just been proven by none other than P. Diddy’s lawyer, or shall we say former layer. Anthony Ricco was a part of Diddy’s legal team as the now-disgraced rapper now spends his time in jail. The industry mogul has pleaded non-guilty to the charges against him and his team has been working hard to get him out of jail, no matter what. However, Anthony Ricco just packed up his bags and said, “No more.”

While the exact reason behind his withdrawal, which is yet to be approved, hasn’t been made public, netizens have branded him the Al Pacino of the present. We all remember, …And Justice for All right?

Back in September 2024, Diddy was arrested on charges of s*x trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in pr*stitution. While he has pleaded not guilty to the charges, more and more updates are being made on his case which has netizens convinced that the rapper is in the wrong.

As per The New York Times, he is currently facing more than forty lawsuits that have been filed against him by both men and women. As he denies any and all allegations, his legal team is trying to get him out of the mess, even if it is on bail, so far, to no avail.

Now, one of his defense attorneys, Anthony Ricco, has pulled out of the case. As per the New York Post, no reason was provided for Ricco’s move, however, he did state,

Under no circumstances can I continue to effectively serve as counsel for Sean Combs. It is respectfully but regrettably requested that the court grant the relief requested.

A judge will have to find enough reason to allow Ricco to step down from the job before this withdrawal can be made permanent. The lawyer, on the other hand, has assured the court that his decision will not delay the trial as Sean “Diddy” Combs “will continue to be represented by five other attorneys of record.”

This decision came after Ricco spoke with Diddy’s lead counsel, Marc Agnigilio. As for the concision, or “brevity” behind his affidavit, Ricco stated that he did not want to disclose any information that is protected by client-attorney privilege. He did say that “there are sufficient reasons” for him to step down.

Before we get into what the people are saying about Ricco’s decision, let’s learn a little about the man. Of course, it is given that a lawyer representing Diddy in such a complex case was not going to be your Average Joe.

Ricco is well-versed with the world of law and his portfolio speaks for itself when it comes to his credentials. He first became a lawyer in 1982 and since then has worked on many high-profile cases, including serving as a counsel on the World Trade Bombing.

He was also a valuable asset in the United States vs, Osama bin Laden case back in 2001. Needless to say, Ricco has never been one to shy away from tough cases. Thus, his withdrawal from Diddy’s case has people convinced that the allegations against him are true and Ricco just couldn’t stand the idea of the case tainting his reputation.

One even compared him to the likes of Al Pacino in…And Justice for All (1979) when in the end his character, Arthur Kirkland, goes ballistic on his own client stating, “The prosecution is not going to get that man today, no, because I’m going to get him. My client, the honorable Henry T. Fleming, should go right to f*cking jail!.”

Take a look:

We will have to wait and see if Ricco’s request of withdrawal gets the judge’s approval or not. As for Diddy, his trial is set for the coming month of May and will begin on the fifth.

Finally, the case that has become a worldwide sensation will get some clarity and people will find out what Diddy’s future holds.
