My boyfriend is circumcised and I have no idea how to please him

DEAR DEIDRE: WHEN my boyfriend and I had sex for the first time, I was shocked to discover that he was circumcised.

I’ve never had a sexual relationship with someone who’s had the procedure and I felt completely clueless. Now I’m worried that my inexperience is going to put him off me.

I’m 24, my boyfriend is 26, and we’ve been dating for a month and a half.

We’d decided to take things slow, and so it wasn’t until last week that we finally got intimate.

As soon as I saw that he was circumcised, I was at a loss. Not only did it look and feel completely different, but I had no clue how to please him.

Everything I knew about sex went completely out of the window, and while I tried my best, I was so worried about hurting him that it ruined the moment.

He could tell that I was getting flustered, but I lied and said that I was nervous. The last thing I wanted was to point it out and embarrass him.

I care about him so much, and all I want is to be close to him, but I’m worried I’ll only ruin it.

DEIDRE’S STORIES

Carl’s girlfriend is surprised he’s unfazed by men’s comments on women

DEIDRE SAYS: While it’s understandable that you’re feeling apprehensive, research has shown there are no differences in how an uncircumcised penis and a circumcised penis respond to touch, stimulation, and orgasm.

So, try not to worry too much about getting it wrong. Instead, try to talk to him about how he prefers to be touched and stimulated. A bit of open communication will go a long way.
