Ah, Daredevil. The man, the myth, the blind lawyer who can hear your heartbeat from across the street. He’s flipping back onto our screens with Daredevil: Born Again, and Marvel is making it clear they’re going for a more classic approach this time around.
Charlie Cox is returning as Matt Murdock, Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin is back to terrifying New York, and, hold onto your red-tinted glasses, Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page is reportedly returning as well.

Now, this is where things get a little confusing. Last we saw Matt and Karen in Netflix’s Daredevil, their relationship was, well, complicated. She loved him, he loved her, but also Catholic guilt, ninja battles, and a lot of brooding got in the way. Then, the Netflix Marvel universe faded into the background, and Matt disappeared for a bit. But now he’s back! And suddenly, we’re acting like certain things never happened.
Marvel’s selective memory about She-Hulk

The MCU is a giant, interconnected web of characters, timelines, and sometimes questionable CGI choices. Not everything has to be remembered, we all try to forget Thor: The Dark World sometimes. Daredevil: Born Again is bringing back key characters from the Netflix series and treating it like a proper continuation. But it feels really weird that no one is acknowledging that Matt Murdock had a very public… let’s call it a legal entanglement with Jennifer Walters.
For those who somehow missed it, Matt Murdock made a charming guest appearance in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. He flirted, he lawyered, he fought crime in his mustard-colored suit, and, most notably, he had a very fun night with Jen.
It was a moment that broke the internet and possibly Jen’s couch. But it seems like Matt’s adventures in LA are being wiped from the official record. Is She-Hulk now in an alternate reality? Was Matt just having a very vivid dream? The silence from Marvel is deafening.
Is Daredevil: Born Again a fresh start or a convenient rewrite?

Charlie Cox is very passionate about playing Daredevil even when he gets old and fans are all for it. So, Daredevil: Born Again is shaping up to be Marvel’s way of bringing back what fans loved about Netflix’s gritty, grounded storytelling. And that’s great! But it also raises questions about just how much of Matt Murdock’s history is carrying over.
With Karen Page returning, does that mean we’re going back to the old Matt/Karen dynamic? Will they pretend Defenders never happened too? Does this mean Elektra is out of the picture? And more importantly, does Matt remember his She-Hulk adventure at all, or is Marvel just hitting the big red ignore button?
It’s one thing to pretend a small continuity error didn’t happen. It’s another to erase an entire walk of shame moment. Marvel, please, at least let Daredevil have some memory of his time with She-Hulk. He may be blind, but we all saw it happen.
And let’s not forget the bigger picture, if Marvel is willing to pretend that Matt’s fling with Jen never happened, what else are they erasing? Are we cherry-picking continuity just to make things easier? The MCU has thrived on interconnectivity, so to suddenly ignore certain events feels jarring.
Daredevil: Born Again will release its first episode on March 4, 2025, on Disney+.
