Lennon Miller watched by Celtic, Rangers and FIVE English Premier League clubs as battle to land Motherwell ace heats up

BRITAIN’S elite clubs spied on Lennon Miller this week.

The Motherwell kid captained Scotland’s Under-19s in Tuesday’s 0-0 draw with France at Falkirk.

SunSport can reveal Celtic and Rangers reps were joined by scouts from Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Aston Villa.

They were keen to see the 18-year-old face a top quality France outfit in the Euro elite qualifier.

Gers’ new technical director Nils Koppen took his seat just hours after starting his new role.

He said: “One of the objectives will still be to sign the best talents from Scotland to maintain our squad.”

Ex-Hoops recruitment chief John Park — who is set to end a second spell at Blackburn Rovers — was also there.

Miller, tied to Well until 2026, skippered the Scots in a goalless draw but was replaced by Rangers starlet Bailey Rice after 68 minutes.

The son of former Aberdeen and Scotland striker Lee made his Well debut in 2022, aged just 16 and six days, making him the club’s youngest player.

The £4million-rated midfielder has since made 55 appearances, including skippering Stuart Kettlewell’s team in their Premier Sports Cup semi at Hampden earlier this month.

The Well academy graduate is now knocking on the door for a call-up to Steve Clarke’s national team and is tipped for a first cap next year.

Former Steelmen and Scotland star Brian McClair is backing Miller’s case — but insists Clarke is right to manage the expectations around him.

The former SFA performance director told Gambling.com: “Of course the Scotland management team will be discussing him, but maybe they felt it was just a bit early to bring him into the full international set-up.

“But if he continues his form, he may well make the next squad.

“Steve has been good at managing expectations around young players.

“But I don’t think there would be anything wrong with bringing him in to be involved in the training sessions, and playing with and against Billy Gilmour and Scott McTominay in particular.”
