Kim Kardashian seems to be changing her tone about ex-husband Kanye West. She recently confessed that he’s “been involved” in co-parenting their four kids, despite previous statements to the contrary.
The “Famous” rapper appeared on the Feb. 20 episode of The Kardashians, where he joined Kardashian to watch their 11-year-old daughter North’s Lion King performance at the Hollywood Bowl. In the episode, the SKIMS founder shockingly only had nice things to say about her controversial ex.
“Her dad has been involved,” Kardashian, who also shares Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5, with Ye, said in a confessional, per E! News. “Kanye and I want the best for the kids, so any time we’re here supporting our child, it’s always good vibes.”

Always good vibes?! Are we talking about the same person who paraded his now-wife Bianca Censori around the Grammys naked, or who went on an antisemitic rant on X this month, calling himself “a Nazi” and defending Sean “Diddy” Combs? This is definitely not role model material, although I understand being in a bind since West is her children’s father. And to be fair, this was taped before West’s latest antics, as North’s performance happened in May 2024.
In the episode, the exes praise North together. “Man, she did so good,” Ye told Kardashian backstage, per E!. “What did you think?”
“I was just crying from the side,” she responded.
Just because they are getting along in limited public appearances does not mean that they have a close relationship (or that she approves of everything her ex does!). In November, Kardashian opened up on Zoe Winkler’s What’s the Winkler podcast about being a single parent and feeling “alone” with her four kids.
She admitted to having a “great support system,” before explaining, “But sometimes in the middle of the night, when they’re all sleeping in your bed kicking you and crying and waking up — it’s not something that I talk about a lot because I feel like there is always a lot of judgment or people always will jump to the, ‘Oh, but you have the resources to have nannies and to have help.’ And I just think that no matter what kind of help I have, I’m basically raising four kids by myself.”
Not to mention, Kardashian has reportedly has given West a “long list of rules” for him and Censori to follow when it’s their turn with the kids. Earlier this month, sources told InTouch Weekly that her biggest rule is “no nudity in front of [the kids].”
The insider added, “She’s made it clear that if he breaks any of the rules they’ve agreed on about posting online while he’s under Bianca’s care there will be hell to pay. She doesn’t want them thinking they can get away with whatever they want just because they’re with their stepmom.”
Another insider told InTouch how Kardashian feels about West’s unhinged Tweets, which she reportedly feels like were “not just an attack on [Kim], it’s an attack on the whole family.” The source continued, “They are all upset but Kim is having the toughest time because she has to deal with him and doesn’t know what he might do next.”
“She’s so angry but she can’t say a word against him in front of her kids, because she knows it will upset them, and she’s bound and determined to protect them no matter what,” the insider added. “It’s classic Kanye, because he’s been acting all nice lately and she thought things might finally be getting better and then he does this, which is just so hurtful.”
It’s good to see that Kardashian is being supportive in front of the kids, but making sure to set boundaries behind the scenes!
These celebrity exes are getting co-parenting right.
