Kate Middleton must be the happiest aunt after her brother James Middleton just shared some sweet new tidbits about his 1-year-old son Inigo. In an appearance on Love Your Weekend, the entrepreneur revealed Inigo’s latest loves and milestones.
According to the brother of the Princess of Wales, Inigo loves tennis balls. Tennis balls! Sometimes it’s the simplest and most random things that put a smile on a little one’s face. Luckily, there are plenty of tennis balls go around at the Middleton household. ICYMI: Inigo has six fur siblings.
“He loves tennis balls because there are always some tennis balls around,” James said. “He likes to throw the balls for the dogs now.”
“So he sits there and chucks the balls in fits of giggles,” he continued.
How sweet is that? We’d loving nothing more than to see a video of the little munchkin laughing as he throws the tennis balls for the dogs who apparently adore him.
“It’s really wonderful, because the dogs have really welcomed him,” James said.
It sounds like Inigo and the doggos have the sweetest of symbiotic relationships. While Inigo helps the canines play fetch, they help him reach new developmental milestones. It turns out the toddler — who James shares with wife Alizee Thevenet — has passed the crawling stage with the help of the pups.
“He gets stability by holding on to the back of a dog, and basically they start walking and he doesn’t really have a choice, so he starts walking,” James said.
And once again we’re pleading for a video of what must be cuteness overload!
In September, James revealed that his sister gives Inigo and her other nieces and nephews a surprisingly normal gift. The future Queen of England packs up her kids’ clothes and gives them to both James and their sister Pippa Middleton to use with their kids. Yup! Royal hand-me-downs are a thing!
“[The clothes] are milestones, because [my sisters] remember when their child was wearing something, and how old they were – it takes them back,” James said. “It’s been a lovely thing for them.”
The author also gave some insight into Inigo’s relationship with his royal cousins Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. “He’s fortunate to have older cousins who can now pick him up and show him things, and as he grows up, they’ll be able to look out for him,” he said.
“There’s definitely an element of curiosity [about] a baby that they have,” James added about how his nieces and nephews feel about the tennis ball-loving tot.
