John Travolta’s daughter, Ella Bleu Travolta, has been making great strides with her singing career and he couldn’t be prouder of her achievements.
“Ella is truly talented, she’s been building towards a career in music for the past decade,” an insider exclusively tells Closer. “She’s a natural songwriter, and she has a huge voice, she’s by no means just in this because of her last name. Sure, she was able to get her music in front of influential people, but as far as just getting a career handed to her that simply did not happen.”
“She has been writing songs for years, it’s therapy for her and singing is also something she does for the pure love of it,” the source adds. “She and John have been singing at the piano since she was a little girl, it’s her passion and she’s got the voice of an angel. What’s more, she’s got the kindest heart. John always says how amazed he is by her. He’s very excited about where her career is going, she’s just beginning her journey and he’s loving having a front seat. He knows she’s gonna do great things.”
On top of her budding music career, John’s daughter already has a couple of acting credits to her name, including an appearance in 2009’s Old Dogs and a role in 2019’s The Poison Rose.
In December 2024, Ella, 24, appeared on the cover of Hunger Magazine and dished on getting involved in the entertainment industry in an accompanying interview.
“Acting is the first thing that I knew I wanted to try to do,” the rising star told the outlet. “But the only opportunity I get to act is when I’m auditioning or have an actual project going on. It’s not much of a one person process creatively.”
Fans who follow Ella on social media are accustomed to hearing some of her music in addition to her acting opportunities.
“The two worlds, for me at least, go hand in hand,” she said of singing and acting. “I’ve always loved singing, but I didn’t think I could write a song. I just had less confidence in that.”
It was during the COVID-19 pandemic that she decided to really hone in on her musical talent and create songs with her ukulele.
“I’d be doing something random, like walking or driving, and a melody or a few lyrics would pop into my head, and I’d record it on a voice memo,” she explained. “Then I’d sit down with a ukulele and start playing chords and make it more into a song.”
Ella released her debut EP, Colors of Love, in November 2024, and her dad is a huge fan of the songs! The “Dizzy” singer revealed that she often turns to John, 70, for career advice.
“I run things by him a lot. He’s a complete role model for me and one of the biggest things also that he does is he’ll give me advice,” she told People in October 2024. “The best advice that I’ve gotten obviously is from him, but he also really leaves it up to me, which I really appreciate. He very much so trusts me and my instincts.”
John welcomed Ella with late wife Kelly Preston in 2000, as well as son, Benjamin Travolta, 14, in 2010 and late son Jett Travolta in 1992. Kelly died in July 2020 after a private two-year battle with breast cancer.
