It’s Criminal Emily Blunt Still Has No Oscar – Even Scarlett Johansson and Jennifer Lawrence Would Dream For a Resume Like Hers

Over the course of an on-screen career spanning more than two decades, Emily Blunt has given some of the most top-notch performances across numerous genres, cementing her position among the greatest A-listers in Hollywood’s entertainment industry. Be it leading an action flick or a horror-thriller one, she has proven she can perfectly bring her excellence to it all.

However, as exceptional of an actress as she has proven herself to be, Blunt hasn’t really earned all that much official recognition from the Academy for the same. In fact, this stands true despite her star-studded resume that includes her having worked with some of the greatest directors of all time — one that even stars like Scarlett Johansson and Jennifer Lawrence would dream of.

Emily Blunt’s Oscar-less star-studded resume could leave anyone envious

Ever since she debuted on-screen in the entertainment industry in 2003 with Boudica and earned her breakthrough in Hollywood in 2006 with Gideon’s Daughter, Emily Blunt has been absolutely nailing it. To say the least, she has left pretty much no opportunity to put her remarkable acting chops on display, and now her star-studded resume speaks for itself.

What makes her resume all the more exceptional is the fact that she has worked with – and is all set to deliver with – some of the greatest filmmakers of all time. This list includes the likes of Christopher Nolan, with whom she collaborated for his 2023 Oscar-winning biopic Oppenheimer. But that was just the beginning for she has multiple other hits incoming.

Deadline reports The Fall Guy actress is in talks to star in an untitled drama alongside Dwayne Johnson and Leonardo DiCaprio. This one focuses on “a turbulent time on the island paradise when an aspiring mob boss battled rival crime factions to wrest control of the underworld of the Hawaiian islands.” This hot package will be directed by Martin Scorsese – yet another major win.

Additionally, Blunt is also reportedly preparing for a film with yet another Hollywood mastermind, Steven Spielberg as well. Per details shared by The Associated Press, this new still untitled “event film” will be based on a story by Spielberg and star Josh O’Connor, and it currently holds a theatrical release date of June 12, 2026, as Universal Pictures reportedly confirmed.

That said, within the next five years, Blunt will have already worked with three of the most legendary filmmakers of all time and will soon be flaunting a currently-Oscar-less resume that even actresses like Scarlett Johansson and Jennifer Lawrence – the former of whom is a two-time Oscar-nominee and the latter a three-time nominee and one-time winner – would want to have.

Fans are praising Emily Blunt for the cinematic powerhouse that she is

While she has delivered other masterpieces with other renowned filmmakers like Denis Villeneuve as well, with whom she worked on the critically acclaimed Sicario in 2015, Emily Blunt has more than just proved her worth as one of the most praiseworthy actresses in Hollywood. That is to say, she might as well finally bag that Academy Award soon as well.

Well, at least that’s what her fans are desperately expecting as they have been expressing on X while commending her over her exclusive feat:

With all of this being put out there, it’s inevitable that pretty much everyone acknowledges Blunt’s talent sincerely – everyone but the Academy, which has failed to grant her more than one Oscar nomination and not even a win. With a resume that boasts collaborations with some of the most GOATed filmmakers of all time, it’s astonishing that she remains Oscar-less.

But, then again, who knows? That might as well change soon.
