“It’s almost like giving a blessing”: Gabriel Macht Disappeared After ‘Suits’ but His Return to ‘Suits: LA’ Proves He Was Born to Play Harvey Specter

Gabriel Macht is set to return as Harvey Specter once again in Suits LA. While the news was revealed last year, fans weren’t sure how much of their favorite character they would get to see in the upcoming spin-off series.

However, Macht’s recent interview shed light on the matter, while also giving an insight into the actor’s headspace.

If anything, this has charged up fans even more for the Stephen Amell starrer series. Moreover, his interview also proved why he was perfect as Harvey Specter.

The anticipation for one of television’s most popular show’s spin-offs has been building for a while. This is understandable, as Suits not only gave fans a look into New York’s cutthroat corporate lawyer life but also turned into an entertaining and emotional rollercoaster ride.

Moreover, the show also gave fans their favorite TV lawyer Harvey Specter. As such, the announcement of his return to Suits LA was met with overwhelming enthusiasm.

According to Gabriel Macht, the actor behind the beloved character, this was one of the main reasons for his return. In a recent interview with People, Macht noted that he’s just doing it for the fans.

I had very little interest in coming back to work as an actor right now because I spent so much time [doing it] and this was my time to really raise my kids and to do this creative stuff like Bear Fight.

As such, the condition behind his return was to make sure that the show wouldn’t clash with his current priorities. However, much like Specter, who was known for his loyalty to his people and the firm, he wanted to find “a way that [he] could sort of pass the baton to Stephen [Amell] and the cast in L.A.”.

If I [could have] anything to do with helping support the show and getting it off [the ground], it’s almost like [giving] a blessing.

This, more than anything else, has fans convinced why he was so splendid as the suave lawyer. As for all of his faults, he still held a sense of morality that was hard to find in the swamps of New York’s corporate legal circles.

He also claimed in the interview that he has read a couple of episodes which are “really good”. Hence, he believes that the fans would “fall right into” Suits LA.

Fans seem excited for Gabriel Macht’s return as Harvey Specter

While Gabriel Macht would return to the series, it won’t be for more than a three-episode stint, according to the actor. Which, again, was what ended up making his mind up about the show.

As per the report, the show’s creator Aaron Korsh lured Macht in by saying “it’s a different world”, and they just want to portray how the spin-off connects to the original series.

As Stephen Amell‘s character, Ted Black, is an import from New York, where the two had known each other, Korsh wanted the transition to the new main lead to happen with the help of the old one.

Gabriel Macht noted that he understood “now how the character of Ted and Harvey connect”. This is a dynamic he actually feels excited to explore. Fortunately, fans also seem just as excited for it and many took to X to express their enthusiasm.

Although Gabriel Macht will only appear for three episodes, his return has single-handedly increased Suits LA’s hype. Stephen Amell, too, is ready to take on the corporate world after his stint as the Green Arrow in CW’s Arrow.

With just a few days left for the show’s release, fans seem excited to find out what the spin-off has in store for them.

Suits LA airs on February 23rd on NBC, and the original Suits is available on Netflix.
