Inside Priscilla Presley’s New Heartbreak Amid Her Elder Abuse Claims: ‘Feels Like No One Has Her Back’

On the second anniversary of her daughter Lisa Marie Presley’s sudden death at age 54, Priscilla Presley posted a heartfelt note on Instagram.

“I miss you more than words can say,” she wrote. “I wish I could hold you, talk to you, see your smile just one more time. I wish you could see how much you are still loved, how deeply you are missed by all of us who carry you in our hearts.”

Along with the note was a smiling photo of Lisa Marie and an instrumental version of Elvis Presley’s 1972 hit “Always On My Mind.”

It’s been a difficult time for Priscilla, 79, who has suffered unthinkable family tragedy. She also calls herself a recent victim of elder abuse who lost substantial sums of money to a con artist. The actress and ex-wife of Elvis Presley has filed a $1 million suit against former business associates she accuses of trying to drain “every last penny she had,” per Priscilla’s lawyer.

In 2022, Priscilla entered into an agreement with Brigitte Kruse, who had a business selling Elvis memorabilia, to create Priscilla Presley Partners. But Priscilla alleges Kruse, among others, mismanaged her affairs and tricked her into signing away 80 percent of her income on certain deals.

“Priscilla has always had trust issues, but the way she was duped into thinking these people had her best interests at heart has made it worse,” says a friend. “She feels like no one has her back.”

Kruse denies any wrongdoing.

Priscilla also accuses Kruse of coming between her and granddaughter Riley Keough, who is the trustee of Elvis Presley Enterprises. After Lisa Marie’s tragic passing, Priscilla contested an amendment her daughter made to her will replacing Priscilla with Lisa Marie’s children as trustees of Elvis’ estate. The legal battle was called off after Riley agreed to pay her grandmother a lump sum and named her special advisor.

“She and Riley have had their ups and downs, but they’re still close,” says the pal.

Emotionally, Priscilla “has her good days and bad,” says the friend. The losses she’s suffered to her family and her business dealings have sapped her joy and self-confidence. She takes comfort in her relationships with her granddaughters — particularly Lisa Marie’s youngest girls Finley and Harper Lockwood, 16. She is also grateful that her musician son, Navarone Garibaldi Garcia, 37, is married and doing well after a period of drug addiction.

“Priscilla is spiritual,” says the friend. “She prays.”

She’s hopeful for a quick resolution to her lawsuit, which has been draining her financially.

“She doesn’t have as much money as she used to have, although I don’t think she is in danger of going broke,” says the friend. “What she’s lost is substantial. Her home is expensive to run, and she’s not as lavish a spender as she once was.”

She’s also learned a valuable lesson.

“Priscilla understands now that her family and longtime friends are the only people she can trust and rely on for support.”
