As Trump prepares to take office on January 20, hundreds of migrants are rushing to enter the U.S., fearing strict immigration policies.
On his first day in the White House Trump plans to initiate mass deportations of undocumented immigrants and tighten entry rules for newcomers.
This fear has led to surge of migrants gathering at border points. On Wednesday about 250 migrants from Chiapas, Mexico, moved toward the U.S. border using government-arranged transportation.
Many migrants are using the CBP One app, which helps schedule appointments for asylum seekers. While the app does not guarantee entry, it is seen as the best option for legal access.
However, conditions at the northern Mexican border are harsh. Many migrants are enduring extreme cold, staying in temporary shelters or around open fires under the sky.

One migrant shared, “We have never been in such cold conditions. But we are trying our best to reach our destination with God’s blessings.”
Despite uncertainty these migrants are making last-minute efforts to fulfill their dreams of finding refuge in the U.S. For many this is a life-and-death struggle.
