The announcements for Christopher Nolan’s latest, The Odyssey, don’t seem like they are coming to an end soon. Every week, a new tidbit is brought to light. Every week, a new star’s inclusion in the epic saga is made official. But this week is a little different.
While Mia Goth’s inclusion in the cast was made official not long ago, it seems like fans have something more to cheer about today. The reason? Matt Damon’s first look in the project has been revealed.
Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey looks destined for greatness
The Odyssey is one of Christopher Nolan‘s highly anticipated works. The anticipation can be partly attributed to the fact that it is based on the ancient Greek epic poem, attributed to the legendary Homer.
The second is the fact that it boasts an insane star-studded cast. Christopher Nolan is known for going big on his dream projects (he even has a 6×6 meters mechanical anthropomorphic ready for the Polyphemus Cyclops scene). But that is just the surface.
Adorning the screen in the 2026 flick are the likes of Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Matt Damon, Jon Bernthal, Benny Safdie, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong’o, John Leguizamo, Elliot Page, Robert Pattinson, and Mia Goth. That is indeed some list.
If there were some apprehensions about how the film would fare going forward, the cast has obviated them. And even if some weren’t piqued by the project, Matt Damon‘s first look as Odysseus has turned the tide.

Homer’s Odyssey is a tale of epic proportions, spanning 24 books. But central to each of these is Odysseus, the man who makes his way back to Ithaca after facing every godforsaken land, and overcoming hundreds of hardships.
It is only befitting that the mantle of playing the hero of this epic falls to none other than Matt Damon. Mind you, the likes of Jon Bernthal, Robert Pattinson, and Tom Holland are also a part of the crew. It won’t be a small feat for anyone to draw their eyes off them. But such is the Ford v. Ferrari star’s charisma.
The first look is another testimony to that. There can be no denying the fact that Damon does look the part. His first look as the main man has fans around the world in awe of how he is managing this off so effortlessly.
