WWE’s current Chief Content Officer Triple H has been working on long-term storylines for the promotion, unlike his predecessor Vince McMahon. The former wrestler took over after McMahon’s retirement and he has been hoping to provide some intense storylines, with divisive responses. However, Dominik Mysterio’s improvised kiss may have ruined it all.
The son of Rey Mysterio has been enjoying a heel run and was stuck in a love triangle with Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley. However, 2024’s SummerSlam seemed to put it to rest after he helped Morgan win the match against Ripley and it ended with a kiss between the two. Dominik Mysterio revealed that the kiss was not scripted.
Viral Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan kiss was not planned by Triple H
Triple H has been responsible for providing incredible entertainment in the WWE ever since he took over in 2022. The CCO seems to have a different management style than his predecessor Vince McMahon, and his tenure has now seen the Cody Rhodes/Roman Reigns feud put to rest and The Rock’s return.
However, The Game seems to have lost control of his players last SummerSlam when wrestler Dominik Mysterio improvised a kiss with Liv Morgan, thus confirming their pairing on the show. The kiss even happened in front of Mysterio’s other flame, Rhea Ripley after Morgan defeated her to retain the Women’s World Championship.
The kiss went viral and saw Dominik turn heel again against Ripley. While the kiss led to the SummerSlam event being widely talked about, Triple H had nothing to do with it. Mysterio mentioned in an interview with Chris Van Vliet that it was unplanned. He said,
I had no idea. I didn’t even know I was going to grab her face. I was just kinda in the moment kind of deal. Honestly, I didn’t even know I was going to kiss her until like probably two hours prior. Just a personal decision. Because I didn’t want anyone to know, Finn kinda had an idea of it. But yeah, I wasn’t. I wasn’t kind of thinking about it at all, and then it kind of just happened.
While the moment has certainly led to the event being popular, Triple H might not be happy that it was not due to his own contributions and plans but due to his player’s improvisation.

Fans may know ‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio as this heel who feuds against his father Rey Mysterio and cheats on his former flame Rhea Ripley with Liv Morgan in front of her, but he is actually a married man in real life. Dominik has been married to his high-school sweetheart since 2024 and she is reportedly aware and okay with all his antics on screen.
Dominik Mysterio spoke about his wife’s reaction to his various romantic links on WWE and mentioned that he is transparent with her about it. He mentioned that even the Liv Morgan kiss or the other intimate moments that went viral were all informed to her after the fact to reassure his commitment to her. He said to Chris Van Vliet,
She’s cool with it, surprisingly. She’s honestly been super cool. She’s my ride-or-die. We’ve been together since we were 14. So as long as I let her know, ‘Hey, this is what’s going to go down,’ she’s like ‘Alright, cool.’ She honestly never gives me a hard time.
He mentioned that even after the kiss, he told her it was all good and she had a similar reaction. He called himself a blessed man for having a wife who was cool with it.
