Not only that, but you waste valuable minutes of your break time finding your food and queuing up to pay for it.

But if the thought of sitting down in your staff canteen and pulling out a battered, crushed old sarnie doesn’t tickle your fancy, there’s a solution for you.

Money-smart shoppers have raced to Home Bargains to grab an inventive solution for meal storage.

The British retailer is selling a packed lunch box in the perfect shape for your lunchtime sandwich.

One happy customer posted a clip of the product to TikTok, where other users called it a “great idea.”

Her post quickly garnered attention, and has so far racked up 363,000 views.

Posting to her account, @x.pinkgems.x, the TikTokker showed herself holding up the retailers nifty sandwich box.

The triangular storage solution has the perfect dimensions to fit your sarnie in – as long as you cut it diagonally.

It’s featuring in the Star Buys section, and is an absolute steal at just £1.49.

Small enough to fit in your bag, it’s the perfect option for people who hate getting to work and finding their lunch squished.

And users in the comments were blown away by the handy box.

“A solution to a problem I didn’t know I had,” said one person.

“Great idea keep sandwich fresh and not squashed,” said another.

“I have been imagining this box for 3 decades,” said someone else.

However, not everybody shared the excitement, with some people preferring old-school methods.

“Easier to use a sandwich bag,” one person said.

“Yeah but then the sandwich gets squashed,” someone else replied.

“The point of it is that you can rinse this and reuse it, people won’t do that with a sandwich bag,” another person argued.

“A squashed sandwich & a one-time-use plastic bag in the landfill for centuries. Yeah, OK….” said somebody else.

What the NHS recommends children have for lunch:

The NHS gives a number of suggestions and guidelines on their Chnage4Life website.

  • Base the lunchbox on foods like bread, rice, pasta and potatoes – wholegrain ideally – too keep kids fuller for longer
  • If your child isn’t keen on wholegrain, try making sandwiches with one slice of white and one slice of wholemeal bread
  • Try to keep lunchboxes interesting by using a variety of shapes like bagels, pittas and wraps
  • Make food fun as lunches can be more exciting if the child has to put them together, like having foods for dipping and makes a change from sandwiches every day.
  • Opt for low fat foods, like lean meats or fish.
  • Cut down on the amount of spreads you put into sandwiches
  • Always add a bit of salad and vegetables to the meal
  • Cut down on the crisps
  • Chop up some fruit or peal satsuamas and add those instead of sweets
  • Cheese can be high in fat and salt so pick strong tasting ones or go for low-fat varieties
  • Get the kids involved in making the lunch – they’ll be more likely to eat it if they helped make it
