When The Witcher first premiered on Netflix, people may have perceived it as just another adaptation that wouldn’t do justice to the source material. Little did they know that Henry Cavill was a huge fan of the story and would do anything to stick to the source. So much so that he chose to leave the show rather than see the story go haywire.

Also starring Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, and Joey Batey among others, The Witcher went on to be one of the most successful IPs on Netflix, filled to the brim with insane action sequences, thrilling plot points, and talented stars. With Liam Hemsworth taking over as the titular character, fans may have to wait and see where the story takes them.
In the meanwhile, another popular star from the show has some choice words to say about her overnight stardom, all thanks to The Witcher.
Anya Chalotra sheds light on gaining fame with The Witcher

The world changed almost overnight for UK-born actress Anya Chalotra. She began her career in theatre and small roles in television shows, much like most actresses of her generation. However, as soon as she got cast as Yennefer of Vengerberg in The Witcher among other stellar actors, she had no idea how soon her fate would turn for the better.
Despite the stardom and people recognizing her on the street, Chalotra kept her calm. She lived life as she did earlier, going to the pubs and having a little people-watching session on her lonesome. She doesn’t mind heading out on her own, enjoying some me-time. Even though people keep coming up to her for a picture or just to talk. The Wanderlust actress shared with The Guardian,
They always come up to me when I’m stuffing my face. Because I don’t mind going to the pub on my own, or eating on my own – I just sit in the corner and watch people – but they always get me stuffing my face.
Though some personalities might find it awkward or embarrassing, Chalotra takes it in her stride and maintains her candid demeanor. And not just people, she enjoys watching dogs as well. Her favorite place to do that? “Victoria Park. Always. The dog-watching there is hilarious. I just find their mothers’ meetings, in the park, hysterical,” she further claims.
Anya Chalotra on Liam Hemsworth’s Geralt casting

It came as quite a shock to the cast when Henry Cavill chose to leave the show after 3 seasons. Though not much was divulged in the beginning, there were murmurs of creative conflicts between the creators of the show and the Superman actor.
Nevertheless, Chalotra’s character would be impacted since Geralt and Yennefer have a certain chemistry in the show. When Variety asked her how she’d tackle this change, she replied,
We haven’t had a chemistry test. I wasn’t part of that process [of his casting]. But I’m very excited to see what his (Liam’s) Geralt is. And only then will we realize what dynamics we have as a group.
Fans are waiting to see how Hemsworth tackles the character and brings a new energy to the show. Will The Witcher survive this drastic change or become one of the forgotten Netflix series soon? Only time will tell.
The Witcher season 4 is set to premiere this year on Netflix.
