THE heartbroken family of a mum-of-two who died on a birthday holiday to New York have confirmed her funeral details.
Sarah Elizabeth Reid passed away on February 10 after suffering a medical emergency while on holiday with her husband Darren in the US.
The mother-of-two was originally from Co Down but lived in Co Tyrone.
Sarah is remembered as the “devoted and loving mother” of children Alexander and Harry and the “dearly loved wife” of Darren.
She is the “cherished daughter” of William and Madeleine and the “dearest sister” of Irene.
She is sadly missed by her parents-in-law Harold and Olive and sisters-in-law Judith and Charline.
In her funeral notice the family said she was “very deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by the entire family circle.”
The family added that “everyone welcome at the Macauley family home” in Banbridge.
The popular young woman will be laid to rest at a funeral service tomorrow.
The funeral will go to Derrygortreavy Parish Church, Dungannon from Sarah’s parents’ house for service at 2.30pm.
This will be followed by an interment in the adjoining churchyard.
The family have requested family flowers only but donations can be made to The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust c/o David Cranston.
A GoFundMe was set up after the young mum’s fell ill while abroad.
The friend behind the fundraiser said: “Last weekend while Darren and Sarah Reid were on holiday in America, Sarah experienced a sudden and serious medical emergency and has been in hospital since. She remains very unwell.
“The local community has come together to support the family during this challenging time by setting up a fundraiser to help with uncertainties around travel and medical expenses.
“The local community and friends have set up the fundraiser to assist the family with any forthcoming financial uncertainties.”
Nearly 1,000 donations have been made raising £72,876, which is €87,882.
‘LIVED FOR HER LITTLE BOYS’
Tributes have poured in for Sarah since she tragically succumbed to the sudden bout of illness.
One person said: “Sarah had a heart of gold and will be deeply missed by so many. She loved and cared for others beyond measure. Praying for Darren, the boys and the rest of the family circle.”
Another wrote: “Absolutely heartbreaking. Such a great friend, daughter, sister, wife and mother…lived for her little boys.
“Such a kind hearted, sincere soul who would go out of her way to help anyone and was always smiling.
“Thinking of all her family. Gone way too soon.”
And another heartbreaking tribute added: “Absolutely heartbreaking
