Epic Games is brutal with cheaters, as one should be. The most recent victim of the developer’s might is Morgan “RepulseGod” Bamford, who was convicted during the 2023 Fortnite Championship Series (FNCS) Grand Finals.

It took almost 2 years for the lawsuit to be closed and the 3 brutal punishments laid down by Epic Games came into effect. RepulseGod is going to pay a huge price for his actions.
Epic Games has set an example by punishing RepulseGod

RepulseGod was convicted of cheating during the FNCS Grand Finals, he had given his account to someone else, Forbes, to unfairly qualify for the tournament and when Epic Games learned about it, it was game over for him.
These 3 brutal punishments are the developer’s way to make an example out of him so that others do not follow along the same path. Epic Games imposed a lifetime ban from Fortnite tournaments, asked to give his prize money back to be donated to charity, and asked him to upload a YouTube video telling the world of his wrongdoings.
It is saddening to see the integrity of Esports going down the drain because of players like Bamford. However, Fortnite’s anti-cheat is not as good as Riot’s Vanguard but it still knows how to deal with cheaters.

It is necessary for any competitive live-service game to lay the groundwork to avoid such instances since it ruins the experience of playing a game by disrupting the balance.
RepulseGod got what we deserved and by imposing a lifetime ban, Epic Games has truly made a statement to every cheater out there. The only thing left for Epic to do now is bring milestone quests back.
Cheating should not be tolerated in sports

Cheating is a big sin while playing any sport, be it offline or online. It is one thing to want to win but resorting to ill means to achieve that goal is not the right way to go about it.
Players need to understand that winning only feels good when you feel you have earned it. You thrived for excellence through dedication and hard work. Whereas resorting to shortcuts or easy way-outs will always only offer short-lived glory with dire results at the end of the tunnel.
The biggest problem with cheating is the moral obligation of any player, be it professional or unprofessional. One can’t justify the need to win by cheating. What do you think about it? Let us know in the comments below.
