Fallon Sherrock says ‘hopefully we never have to see it on TV’ as she shuts down darts match ‘everyone wants to watch’

FALLON SHERROCK insists she never wants to see darts fans’ dream match take place.

Sherrock, 30, rose to fame in 2019 when she became the first woman to beat a man at the PDC World Championships.

Her run to the third round at Alexandra Palace earned her the nickname Queen of the Palace.

But as she prepares to make her fifth appearance at the iconic tournament, there is one draw Sherrock desperately wants to avoid.

That is because she has been dating fellow darts player Cameron Menzies since 2021 after their first date to KFC.

And with both stars qualifying for the Ally Pally showpiece, there is a chance the boyfriend and girlfriend could be pitted against one another.

But Sherrock reckons that would be her worst nightmare.

She told Online Darts: “100 per cent.

“I mean, can you imagine the arguments afterwards? Regardless of who wins.

“Before and after, it would just be so nervy.

“I don’t think it would be a good game for anyone to watch because we’d both be quite nervy and stuff.

“I know everyone wants to see it, but there’d be a lot of nerves in that one.

“I don’t think it’s a great thing that everyone wants to watch it. Put me up against any other player, I’ll be fine.

“Obviously, I’m not going to tell you the conversations that we have, but I always back myself, and he always backs himself. Hopefully, we never have to see it on TV.

“I don’t mind it on a floor game, but hopefully not on TV. We do practise [together], and even then, it gets a bit nervy.

“Can you imagine it on TV? You would see all the emotions, and I think even if I hit a 180, I’d probably celebrate a little bit.”

Darts ace Vincent van der Voort reckons seeing the loved-up pair go head to head at the oche would be “spicy and awkward”.

He said: “It would be really wonderful if boyfriend and girlfriend had to play each other at the World Championship.

“And not in the second round only, but right in the first round.

I don’t know what I’ve done to him, I’ve created a monster, sorry guys!

“It’s great because prior to that spicy encounter you live in the same house for two and a half weeks while you know you have to compete against each other.

“That’s still separate and awkward all the same. But I would find it the most fun scenario.

“There will always be extra tension on a match like this, because you have to play the person who has been with you all day.

“Then you hope for a loss for the other person, but you can get it yourself in this situation.”

Sherrock secured her spot at Ally Pally with her performances on the PDC Women’s Series while Menzies, 35, qualified through the Pro Tour Order of Merit.

He recently won his first PDC ranking title and reached the quarter-finals of the Grand Slam of Darts.

And plumber Menzies has even credited his doting partner for the upturn in his career.

Sherrock joked: “I don’t know what I’ve done to him, I’ve created a monster, sorry guys!

“He’s playing absolutely phenomenal at the moment and I’ll just keep supporting him, and hopefully, he can just carry on.”

Sherrock and Menzies will discover their fate when the World Championships draw takes place on Monday, November 25.

The main event then gets underway on December 15 with the big final on January 3.

Luke Littler is the new bookies’ favourite and tipped to go one better than last time out when he reached the final on his debut and lost to Luke Humphries.

The Warrington teen, 17, won the Grand Slam of Darts in emphatic fashion last weekend and is up to No5 in the world rankings following his whirlwind 12 months.
