“Eventually we’ll try to figure out a bit more with that”: After Daredevil: Born Again, MCU Hints Elektra Series for Elodie Yung

The Daredevil universe just can’t stay quiet, can it? Fresh off the chaos of Born Again, the MCU might have another ace up its sleeve — Elektra. And not just any Elektra, but Elodie Yung’s razor-sharp, fan-favorite assassin. While nothing’s set in stone (yet), the hints are there.

Elodie Yung had portrayed the role of Elektra in Daredevil (2015-2018).

Marvel’s bigwigs are playing it cool, throwing out lines like, “Eventually we’ll try to figure out a bit more with that.” Translation: They’re cooking something. And if Elektra is back, you know it won’t be a warm, fuzzy reunion.

MCU teases Elektra’s return after Daredevil: Born Again – Elodie Yung back in play?

Daredevil: Born Again hasn’t even hit screens yet, but the MCU is already looking ahead, and Elektra might be back in play. Marvel’s Sana Amanat confirmed that Elodie Yung’s deadly assassin and the shadowy Hand are very much on their radar. She said,

One-hundred percent it’s in the back of our heads. Eventually we’ll try to figure out a bit more with that.

Season 1’s not even out, but the Born Again team’s already deep into planning season 2. With production running smoother this time, showrunner Dario Scardapane teased that the new season would be more of a continuation rather than a reset. One major threat is the twisted serial killer Muse, whose presence rippled far beyond season 1.

But Elektra isn’t the only Netflix-era question mark.

With Daredevil and Punisher back in the MCU fold, fans have been speculating about the rest of the Defenders. Would Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, or Iron Fist make their way back? Marvel producer Brad Winderbaum played it coy but hinted at the excitement behind the scenes. Winderbaum said

I can’t say much, but I’ll tell you that it’s so exciting to be able to play in that sandbox…Obviously, we don’t have the unlimited storytelling resources like a comic book, [where] if you can draw it, you can do it. We’re dealing with actors and time and the massive scale of production in order to build a cinematic universe, especially on television. But I can just say that all those variables taken into account, it is certainly something that is creatively extremely exciting and that we are very much exploring.

One thing’s certain: Marvel’s shifting gears from one-off series to multi-season commitments. Born Again is locked in for more than one season, though Winderbaum isn’t spilling how long it’d run. As for Charlie Cox, he doesn’t know what might come after season 2 but admitted,

It would be cool for that journey to continue.

With Elektra, the Hand, and the Defenders still in the mix, Born Again is just the beginning.

Fans react as MCU may be saving Elodie Yung’s Elektra for a bigger comeback

MCU might be keeping Elodie Yung’s Elektra under wraps for a bigger reason. With Daredevil: Born Again rolling out promo material and no sign of her yet, fans are convinced Marvel is saving her for something bigger – possibly her own solo series.

The demand is loud. Fans want to see her back, even if it’s just for one episode. Many believe she’s the definitive Elektra, and they aren’t ready to let go of her character just yet. With Born Again confirmed as a multi-season show, there’s plenty of time for a well-timed return.

Marvel producer Sana Amanat already hinted that Elektra and the Hand were still on their radar. If that’s the case, her absence now might just mean the MCU is playing the long game. Fans aren’t losing hope; they’re just waiting for the moment she finally steps back into the action.

Daredevil: Born Again is scheduled to air on Disney+ on March 4, 2025, with its first two episodes.
