Cult of the Lamb might not have gotten the attention it deserves from the Game Awards community. The team behind the game sure is disappointed for being overlooked by it.
However, the developers fire back at it by showcasing their dedication to the community. The developer has laid out all of the game’s achievements that it has managed to conquer this year and the work that went behind it.
Cult of the Lamb Developers Showcase Their Win In A Unique Way
Cult of the Lamb developers are disappointed for not being nominated for the Community Support Award this year after all the work they have put into building a healthy community around the game.
The developers shared a thread on Twitter showcasing all the things that they have managed to do in a single year, including two free major content updates, marrying two couples in a Cult of the Lamb-themed wedding, releasing two in-house animated shorts, releasing a while metal album with well-known artists, and making their Discord channel a wholesome place to interact by initiating faction wars, art prompts, base-building competitions, cosplay competitions, and much more.
The developers also released a digital comic for the first time due to high demand from the game’s community to get to see more lore from it. They also held a rave in Melbourne, a party in London, and a listening party in Salem.

Over the last year, the game has had 421kK growth on X, 181k growth on Tiktok, over 250k community members on Discord, 100k followers on Plaque from Youtube, and they just hit the 40k mark on BlueSky. You can check out their Twitter thread to know more about it.
Cult of the Lamb Developers Deserved Better
The game deserved better after giving so much to the community. However, not all seems to be lost. It might have been overlooked by The Game Awards, but the independent circuit seems to have taken notice of it.
Massive Monster, the studio behind Cult of the Lamb, is nominated for Community Management Award by the Indie Game Awards 2024. This is the silver lining that is bound to make the developers happy who had to come out and tell the world why they deserved better.
The game seems to be doing fine, and not including it in the big leagues is a loss for the Game Awards community itself. What do you think about it? Let us know in the comments below.
