WHEN it comes to sell-out products, Dawn spray is at the top of US cleaning fans’ shopping lists.
But for years, those in the UK have been unable to get their hands on the stain-busting, degreasing product.

However, there’s now a new spray that’s being hailed as the “UK equivalent” of Dawn, and it’s got cleaning fans clearing the shelves in the supermarket.
One mum-of-two took to her TikTok page to share a video of herself hitting Tesco in search of Fairy’s ‘Skip the Soak’ Power Spray.
“POV: you go on a late night Tesco shop and you find the UK version of the Dawn spray that everyone has been raving about,” Mrs Jones’ Diaries wrote over the top of her video.
The clip showed her loading four of the green bottles into her trolley, looking delighted as she did so.
The spray is also on offer on Tesco’s Clubcard Prices for just £3.25.
It’s also priced at £3.25 in Waitrose – but the store noted that’s just an introductory offer.
People were quick to comment on the TikTok, with one person using crying laughing emojis to weigh in.
“I had to before they ran out!” Mrs Jones Diaries, who also shares her cleaning hacks on Instagram, replied.
The Fairy spray has been designed to “ease washing dishes with tough grease, without water, for a fast & effortless impeccable clean”.
Manufacturers claim it’s “100% effective on grease”, and gives the “power of an overnight soak in minutes”.
“Just scrape off excess food and spray directly to dishes before placing them in the dishwasher or directly in the dishwasher, or washing them by hand,” they added.
And, as an added bonus, the product can also be used as a multi-purpose spray – across the kitchen to clean sink and surfaces – just “spray and wipe with a damp cloth”.
Dawn has long been a favourite across the pond, as it contains “powerful surfactants” – the ingredients that lower the water surface tension and therefore help to both collect and remove dirt.
The US spray has also gone viral on social media, with fans gushing about how well it cleans their dishes and their homes.
But to get it in the UK, you have to shell out loads importing it – meaning the Fairy equivalent is likely to be a popular sell out after gaining the same rave reviews over here.
