Inside Jake Paul’s amazing body transformation, from scrawny YouTuber to beefy boxing heavyweight

JAKE PAUL has taken the boxing world by storm after literally transforming into a heavyweight star in just a few years.

The social media motormouth began his journey in the sport in 2018 in a white-collar match against English YouTuber Deji Olatunji.

In 2020, he competed in his first professional fight against AnEsonGib.

While the only blemish on his record is defeat to Tommy Fury in 2023.

Last year, he fought Mike Tyson that streamed live on Netflix to 100million viewers – winning by a unanimous decision.

It means he boasts a very credible 11-1 record since he began his journey.

The Jake that started this quest has also undergone an incredible body transformation.

From skinny YouTuber to a heavyweight Goliath, here’s how Paul has changed through the years.

Making his debut

In 2018, Paul defeated fellow influencer and KSI’s brother Olatunji by technical knockout in the 5th round.

But, he cut a far leaner figure then.

The 6ft 1in fighter reportedly weighed in at around 181 pounds – and was a lean, mean, fighting machine.

That fight in Manchester was the lowest he’s ever weighed.

Heavier specimen

Two years later, Paul returned to the ring for his first pro fight against AnEsonGib.

It was a cruiserweight contest, and the American made light work of the friend of the Sidemen – knocking him out in round one in Miami, Florida.

It was a bout that lasted barely two minutes.

Incredibly, Paul had put on nearly 10 pounds more of muscle – and the picture difference is very evident. He clocked in at 190 pounds.

Found his fighting weight

For his bouts against Tyron Woodley in 2021, Paul kept his weight to that same level he fought AnEsonGib with.

Again, he was around the 190 pound mark – slightly heavier than the former UFC champion.

Paul was bigger and better than his opponent, utilising his power to beat Woodley twice.

Their first fight came to a split decision, while the second was a 6th round knockout.

Coming back down

Looking for more agility against Anderson Silva, Paul actually dropped some pounds.

He came down to around 186 pounds, the same as Silva – surely with the belief it would give him more speed.

And he wasn’t wrong, either.

Paul outboxed his rival – winning by unanimous decision.

Although he cut a leaner figure, he was certainly as ripped as ever in 2022.

Taking on Fury

Astonishingly, Paul came down more for his next fight against Tommy Fury in 2023, when it seemed possible he would bulk up.

He was nearer the fighting weight from his debut all the way back in 2018 – this time tipping the scales at around 183 pounds.

Again, he was hoping for a more mobile body shape to help him deal with Fury’s speed.

It was his first and only loss, by split decision, and it encouraged him to beef up again.

Slightly heavier for Diaz

Certainly, Paul was already reaping the benefits of regular gym work in 2023.

At this point he was all muscle, and ahead of the taunting of UFC legend Nate Diaz was expected to come in heavier than the MMA fighter.

And needless to say he did, weighing in at 185 pounds – although he needed to use a towel to make weight.

Diaz weighed exactly the same, which was as heavy as he’s ever been before a fight.

Paul was the victor by unanimous decision after 10 hard-fought rounds.

Career-high

In 2023, The Problem Child hit a career-high weight before taking on Ryan Bourland.

The bout took place in Puerto Rico and lasted just the one round.

No surprises that TKO’d his opponent in the opener, given his whopping weight.

Weighing at almost 200 pounds, he had plenty of might behind him with every punch.

Extensive gym work and a high-protein diet helped him bulk up for the occasion.

‘Iron Paul’

Last time out, Paul fought Mike Tyson in an epic event on Netflix.

He made short work of the much-older competitor, however it did go the distance.

Paul was declared victor by unanimous decision back in November.

But what was more impressive was his gargantuan size.

Incredibly, he came in at 227 pounds – which piuts him safely in the heavyweight category.

That means from 2018 to today, Paul’s had a weight swing of 45 pounds.

And doesn’t he look well for it?

‘Don’t walk, RUN’ shoppers scream as Sainsbury’s slash price of leftover Valentine’s roses to a single penny

SHOPPERS are racing to their local supermarket to pick up flowers slashed in price.

Hopefully, everyone was treated to a nice bouquet for Valentine’s Day this year, but if not, you’re in luck, as you can treat yourself for a fraction of the price.

Eagle-eyed shoppers spotted that Sainsbury’s had slashed the price on its Valentine’s roses to just 1p for a single rose.

And one man says his stash has made his wife very happy.

Sharing the bargain buy on Facebook, Jav Mal wrote: “Don’t walk to Sainsbury’s, RUN!

“Mrs was very happy.”

Jav took a picture of the display of roses left over from Valentine’s and shared it on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, a private Facebook group with 2.6million members.

The flower buckets were still relatively full, so there were plenty for others to pick up and grab themselves a bargain.

The display showed single red roses reduced to 1p as well as bouquets of a dozen roses for the same price.

Also on offer was a rainbow rose, also slashed down to the same price.

While some of the flowers may look like they might die soon, there are some savvy ways to get them to last for weeks.

Start by cutting stems diagonally and removing any excess leaves from the cuttings.

This will make sure the flower gets all the nutrients.

You can also help open the rose up by gently peeling the petals back to give them a fuller appearance.

Adding a few drops of bleach to clean water will help kill off bacteria and make the flowers last longer while a spoonful of sugar will keep the flowers fed.

Shoppers were quick to take to the comments of the post and were eager to pick up the bargain too.

8 must-have plants to brighten up your garden

Nick Hamilton owner of Barnsdale Gardens has shared his favourite plants and flowers you should consider adding to your garden, borders and pots.

Tricyrtis

A spectacular plant that gives a real exotic feel to any garden with its orchid-like, spotted flowers giving the impression that this plant should be tender but it is “as tough as old boots!”.

Penstemon

I love this plants genus of because most will flower all summer and autumn. They’ll grow in sun or semi-shade in a well drained soil and produce a non-stop display of tubular flowers in an array of colours and colour combination to suit all tastes.

Luzula sylvatica ‘Marginata’

With the evergreen leaves edged with yellow it’s great asset is that it
will grow in sun or shade in any type of soil and is great as groundcover in the hardest spot to fill – dry shade.

Eryngium x zabelii ‘Big Blue’

A stunning, nectar-rich plant that will feed the beneficial insects in your
garden. Leave the flowerheads once they have turned brown because they look stunning with winter frost and snow, extending the plant’s interest period.

Sarcococca hookeriana ‘Winter Gem’

If you need winter scent then look no further than this compact, evergreen shrub. The scent is stunning and the evergreen leaves create an excellent backdrop for the summer flowers.

Cornus sanguinea ‘Anny’s Winter Orange’

A dwarf version of ‘Midwinter Fire’ the very colourful stems create a stunning winter display, particularly on sunny days.

Rosa ‘Noisette Carnee’

A very well-behaved climbing rose that is perfect for training over an arch, pergola or gazebo. The small, “noisette” flowers are blush-pink and produce the most amazing clove scent constantly from June to November.

Sanguisorba hakusanensis ‘Lilac Squirrel’

I’ve never seen a squirrel with a drooping, shaggy lilac tail, but this variety will give your garden an unusual and different look throughout summer. It does need a moisture retentive soil but will grow in sun or semi-shade.

One person wrote: “I’d buy the lot for 1p.”

Another tagged their friend, commenting: “No excuses lol.”

“Don’t come home without one of these,” penned a third.

Meanwhile a fourth said: “Literally going now.”

“There’s still time,” claimed a fifth.

Someone else added: “Just shows how overpriced they were.”

Trump ‘will WITHDRAW US troops from Nato’s Russia frontline in Baltics in bombshell Ukraine peace agreement with Putin’

DONALD Trump will allegedly withdraw US troops from Nato’s frontline with Russia in the Baltics as part of its surprise Ukraine peace agreements.

The US President shocked the world when he revealed he spoke to Vladimir Putin last week about brokering an end to the almost three-year deadly invasion.

This could be part of Ukraine peace talks with Putin[/caption] Illustration of a proposed Ukraine peace plan map showing territorial divisions and troop deployments.

Alleged details about the fraught negotiations revealed Kyiv and Europe were being iced out of these talks.

Putin reportedly wants all Nato forces removed from his neighbouring Western countries, per the Financial Times.

European officials now believe Trump could cave to this and remove the US troops that have been placed in the countries bordering Mad Vlad.

The former Soviet nations – Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania – could be placed in a vulnerable position with this apparent proposition.

It is not clear exactly how many US troops are stationed in the area but around 600 are positioned in Estonia, according to the US Embassy.

These shock apparent plans comes after a permanent military base was set up in Lithuania.

This site was due to hold 5,000 soldiers and be fully operational by 2027, but Trump’s peace talks could throw this into disarray.

This could leave these smaller nations at risk of Putin’s terror as Nato warned the Russian tyrant could launch a wider war, past Ukraine.

Trump repeatedly vowed to end Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine throughout his re-election campaign.

He made a huge step towards this by arranging to meet Putin in Saudi Arabia soon for talks but Zelensky insisted Ukraine would not accept any peace deals reached without Kyiv’s involvement.

Other peace measures reportedly considered by Trump include banning Kyiv from joining Nato and declaring neutrality.

Another potential clause could be Russia keeping the five regions it has annexed in Ukraine – Crimea in 2014 and then Donetsk, Kherson, Lugansk and Zaporizhzhia in 2022.

Ukraine could also be asked to withdraw from the Kursk region of Eastern Russia.

This comes as US Defence Secretary Keith Hegseth said it was “unrealistic” for Ukraine to return to its 2014 borders before Putin invaded Crimea.

Hegseth also confirmed on Wednesday that the US doesn’t want American troops to be involved in defending the country.

Trump also said he has struck a deal for $500billion worth of Ukrainian rare minerals in return for military support the US gave.

Trump told Fox News that Kyiv could decide it didn’t want to deal – but that Zelensky had agreed to trade military support for key minerals.

He said: “We are going to have all this money in there, and I say I want it back. And I told them that I want the equivalent, like $500 billion worth of rare earth.

“And they have essentially agreed to do that, so at least we don’t feel stupid.”

Nathan was born in Burton-upon-Trent on May 25, 1994.

His biggest hit to date was the single “Lighter” which features YouTuber KSI and singer Ella Henderson on vocals.

She went on to reveal that the reason they had split was down to their conflicting schedules.
