The 10 things your hairdresser secretly wishes you’d stop doing – so are you guilty of them?

HAIRDRESSERS can be miracle workers, turning our bad hair days into fabulous ones.

But even the best in the business have their limits – especially when their jobs are made harder by clients’ annoying habits.

There are some annoying habits that can annoy your hairdresser[/caption]

From being indecisive and bringing unrealistic expectations to the chair, to constantly turning their necks or refusing to look down during a cut, clients can test even the most patient stylists.

Leanne Lee, Timely ambassador and CEO of The Hair & Business Academy, reveals ten things she wishes we’d all stop doing.

So are you guilty of them?

“Look down for me!”

“We know it can be annoying, but when we ask you to look down, it’s for good reason”, says Leanne.

She adds: “If your head suddenly takes on a mind of its own and suddenly becomes as rebellious as a teenager past curfew, we risk turning your haircut into an accidental ear-piercing session.”

The Blow-Dry Wiggle

Not being able to sit still can also prove problematic.

Leanne jokes: “We get it; having a hairdryer blasting your scalp isn’t the most soothing experience.

“But if we had a pound for every time a client tilted their head backwards or darted sideways mid-blow-dry like we were playing hair dodgeball, we’d be retired.”

The Chatty Neck-Turner

Having a good gossip with your hairdresser can really make the appointment fly by.

And they often end up being a person’s biggest therapist or confidante.

But Leanne has a “pro tip” for anyone who wants to enjoy a chatter.

She says: “Let’s keep the mirror as our middleman for eye contact.

“Turning your head mid-chat might mean an uneven fringe, and nobody wants that. So let’s keep the conversations flowing while your head stays still.”

Phone Yoga

We get it—life’s busy, and sometimes calls can’t wait.

“But balancing a phone on your head while we work around it is a bit like asking us to play scissors twister”, says Leanne.

“Let’s set the phone aside during the cut, and we promise you’ll be out the door in no time.”

The Blonde Ambition Brigade

Dreaming of those icy-blonde waves you saw on your Pinterest board?

Leanne says hairdressers are 100 per cent “here for it”.

However, she advises: “If your starting point is jet-black hair, achieving your dream will be a journey, not a sprint.

“And while we’ll do our best to keep your length, going that light can involve some compromise.”

Indecision Central

Hairdressing pro Leanne says she loves clients’ enthusiasm and creativity – but adds that finding the perfect style can be tricky if you’re not sure what you want.

She suggests: “Bring in some inspiration or a clear idea, and we’ll work our magic.

“Don’t worry, there’s always room for collaboration—we just need a starting point!”

Surprise Guests

Sometimes, mums have no choice to bring their little ones with them to hair appointments – and should never feel bad about it.

To make it easier for everyone, Leanne suggests: “Give us a heads-up so we can plan accordingly and make the experience enjoyable for everyone.”

Bringing Product (…and judgment)

Next up, the hair expert urges clients to be open-minded about products the professionals use.

She says: “We understand your loyalty to your favourite shampoo but trust us when we say our salon-grade products are specially designed to pamper your hair.

“Your go-to bottle can take a day off—your locks will thank you for the professional TLC!”

The Hair Homework Procrastinator

When hairdressers ask if you’re using heat protectant and you nod, they trust you.

But those split ends tell their own story.

Leanne says: “No shame here—just a gentle reminder that a little extra care at home goes a long way. Show your hair some love between appointments, and you’ll see the difference.”

The Last-Minute “Oh, By the Way…

Hairdressers are all about being flexible but adding a root touch-up and trim to a simple blow-dry appointment at the last second can be tricky.

Leanne concludes: “We want to give you the best experience possible, so next time, use our online booking in advance for all the pampering—we’ll make sure you leave looking fabulous!”

AN iconic indie band is speculated to be joining the Glastonbury 2025 lineup – and fans are seriously freaking out.

The popular music event held at Worthy Farm, which will run from Wednesday, June 25 to Sunday, June 29 this summer, already has a slew of hit musicians and bands confirmed.

Speculation is rife around who will join headliners The 1975, Stevie Wonder and Neil Young[/caption]

The Sun previously revealed that pop icons Chappell Roan, Charli XCX and Olivia Rodrigo are all set to perform at Glastonbury next year.

They join The 1975, Stevie Wonder and Neil Young who are due to perform on the Pyramid Stage.

And now Japanese Breakfast is the latest band to be tipped to join the lineup for this summer’s festival.

In a Glastonbury forum on Reddit, one user speculated: “Japanese Breakfast has just announced [a] new album and 2025 tour and there is a nice gap for Glasto, so I guess they are quite likely?

One fellow Redditer then commented: “They were on the schedule for Other on the Sunday in 2023 and cancelled last minute, replaced by Eaves Wilder (who did a great job on short notice).

“So it would be great to see JB this year, and hopefully they’ll be extra motivated given the previous no show.”

A second then said: “Yeah I’ve predicted them for a while. hopefully!”

While a third replied: “Guess that makes them even more likely! :)”

Another person then added: “If 1975 are playing I doubt it…”

SPECULATION IS RIFE AMONG FESTIVAL FANS

To which someone asked: “What’s the tea there?!” before the original commenter replied: “Matty Healy being Matty Healy I believe.”

“They’re not gonna turn down the prestige of Glasto due to not liking a headliner,” added someone else.

Japanese Breakfast is an American indie pop band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania formed in 2013.

The band, which has a pop genre, is fronted by vocalist, guitarist, and primary songwriter Michelle Zauner.

Michelle performs alongside Peter Bradley, Deven Craige, and Craig Hendrix.

Glastonbury 2025 - rumoured acts

THE Glastonbury line-up hasn't been confirmed - despite the fact tickets for the 2025 event sold out in minutes. Here are some rumoured acts.

Basement Jaxx sparked speculation they will be playing at Worthy Fam after leaving a “Glastonbury shaped gap” in their latest tour schedule.

It came after the hit duo announced their first live shows in 10 years – with gig-goers calling out a key “clue” in the order of their concert dates.

Yet acts including Olivia Rodrigo, Harry Styles, Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan and Eminem are rumoured to be in the mix.

Canadian songstress Alanis Morrisette and Simple Minds have also been tipped to take to the stage.

The event will run from Wednesday, June 25 to Sunday June 29 for 2025.

The band is known for their hits such as Be Sweet, Boyish and Savage Good Boy.

OTHER GLASTO 2025 RUMOURS

Japanese Breakfast isn’t the only rumoured act to be joining the 2025 Glastonbury lineup.

Other rumours include the likes of the Maccabbees, Harry Styles, Ed Sheeran, and Basement Jaxx.

The Maccabees sparked speculation of a reunion back in October of last year and they recently confirmed they are back together and performing as a band again.

The five-piece group, fronted by Orlando Weeks, are already booked to headline a London music festival this summer, but fans think they could also sign up to perform at Glastonbury, with rumours rife online.
