Body of man found in vacant house in Donegal as gardai investigating ‘all of the circumstances’ surrounding death
THE body of a man was found in a vacant house this afternoon.
Gardai said they are investigating “all of the circumstances” surrounding the grim find, which was made at around 2.30pm on Wednesday at an empty property in Dundrain, Burnfoot, Co Donegal.
The deceased has not yet been identified.
He was removed tonight to the mortuary at University Hospital Letterkenny for a post-mortem examination.
The Office of the State Pathologist and the local coroner have been notified, gardai said.
The scene was preserved for technical and forensic examinations.
Gardai said the results of the post-mortem will assist them in determining the course of their investigations.

It comes amid a raft of weather warnings for the whole country.
Met Eireann has issued Status Orange low temperature and ice warnings for all of Leinster, Munster and Connacht as well as Cavan and Monaghan.
The meteorological service said that it will be “extremely cold with widespread severe frost, ice and lying snow” in these areas until 11am Thursday.
In Donegal, there is a Status Yellow warning in effect until 12pm on Friday.
There, Met Eireann says it will be “very cold with widespread frost, ice and lying snow” with “some patches of freezing fog also”.
It warned of potential impacts, including hazardous travelling conditions on roads and underfoot, travel disruption and poor visibility.
