Tiny home campervan’s living room expands by 400ft in seconds as AI ‘captures water from thin air’ & turns on the lights

A TINY home campervan has a living room that expands by 400ft in just seconds as AI “captures water from thing air” and turns on the lights.

AC Future’s AI-TH transformable home is kitted out with modern technology and comes in three different models.

Showcased at CES 2025, the travelling home line up includes the AI-THu, AI-Tht, and AI-THd, which stand for “unit”, “trailer”, and “drivable” respectively.

The fully electric modular homes are designed similarly to tiny or vacation homes, with the drivable version described as a “smart” and “self-sufficient” RV by Autoevolution.

Sized as big as a bus, the motorhome can transform into a 400-square-foot apartment with a bedroom, bathroom, living room, and fully functioning kitchen.

Pull-out sections as the rear and on both sides of the vehicle allow it to seamlessly expand, providing owners with a spacious environment.

The self-sufficient motor can also generate around 25 kWh of energy every day thanks to its roof being covered in solar panels.

As a backup, the home can also be plugged in if the sunlight isn’t enough, and there’s even been talk of wind-generation options for customers who live in cloudy climates.

Buyers will also be happy to know the home contains an “uncramped” stall shower and washer/dryer in the bathroom.

Additionally, its full HVAC system paired with high-efficiency insulation keeps the temperature just right.

Artificial intelligence (AI) plays a prominent role in the vehicle, with the whole-home proprietary AI assistant Futura working to make life easier for you.

It’s capable of turning on the homes lights, managing your resources, and even handling other management tasks.

The smart homes will also come equipped with atmospheric water generation, capable of “sucking in between 13 and 15 gallons of water daily out of thin air”, according to Engadget.

Grey water is also recycled by the homes and kept in a holding tank, allowing the units to act as “self-sustaining living pods”.

AC Future said the motorhomes, which have had their starting prices set, are “aimed at addressing the affordable, sustainable and mobile housing crisis worldwide”.

The static base “unit” model will start at $98,000 (£79,000), the “trailer” model will go for $138,000 (£112,000) and up, while the “drivable” version is set to start at $298,000 (£241,000).

‘SMART AND SELF-SUFFICIENT RV’

Each model differs slightly from the other, with the “trailer” one being functionally similar to the “unit”, except for the fact it can be attached to the rear of a moving vehicle.

The “drivable” unit does exactly what it says on the tin and combines the features of the other two units but into a fully-functioning home that can move itself.

If you’re interested in buying any one of the homes, reservations are open now.

This comes after Kia unveiled an EV camper van late last year that allows people to live off-the-grid.

The PV5 WKNDR impressed during its first appearance at the SEMA tradeshow, as reported by Inside EVs.

It was created with the ever popular van life movement which sees people take a big leap into existing off-grid.
