Kate’s ‘gentle rebellion’, nod to the Queen plus 3 hidden messages in 43rd birthday snap, shared by body language expert
PRINCE William has shared a glamorous black-and-white shot of Princess Kate to celebrate her turning 43 today.
And according to body language expert Judi James, the Princess of Wales displayed “gentle rebellion” and “total personal confidence” in the stylish snap.
Prince William praised his ‘incredible wife’ on her 43rd birthday today with this unseen photo[/caption] The Queen was rarely seen with hands in her pockets, but did it on occasion[/caption]The sleek image shows the royal mum-of-three posing against a wall with her hands casually resting in her pockets.
Judi told Fabulous: “This very stylish monochrome pose could have come straight from a fashion spread but Kate has suffused it with hi-five nods and signals that express both her character, her current
emotional state and her intrinsic bonds of unique empathy with the late Queen.”
The expert pointed out that Princess Kate has mirrored the iconic image of the Queen putting her hands in her pockets.
She added: “The late Queen was ninety-three years old before she realised her dream of adopting some model-style poses for the camera.
“One gesture that had been banned on the grounds of being ‘unsuitable’ was the placing of her hands in her pockets.
“The expression of utter joy and excitement on the late Queen’s face as she broke her own mother’s rule and expressed herself in some Vogue-style poses looks mirrored by Kate here as she very emphatically places her hands into her jeans pockets in a way that seems to pay love and respect to one of the late Queen’s most indulgent, fun moments.
“You can imagine the late Queen getting the little joke that is created here by the mirroring here and maybe celebrating the fact that the next Queen in line won’t be as restrained by as many rules and regulations.”
Subtle signs
She added: “Kate’s sense of gentle rebellion and total personal confidence is created here by more than just her hand gesture though.
“She oozes a sense of strength and resilience in an outfit and a pose that is miles away from her more vulnerable-looking florals and reflective smiles.
“Her sleeves are, maybe not rolled but certainly folded, up in a gesture associated with being about to get stuck into a job, and her back is slightly arched to again suggest confidence and maybe optimism.”
Judi added that Kate is displaying a “naughty, playful” smile with her “one-crooked eyebrow”, that has been “made famous by Kylie Minogue and even David Beckham.”
Birthday wishes
The image was taken by photographer Matt Porteous and shows Kate standing tall, but looking relaxed, in Windsor last summer.
The royal opted for a laid back white blouse, blue jeans, black blazer, accessorized with a gingham scarf.
Proud Prince William wished Princess Kate a Happy Birthday after a turbulent 12 months for their family.
He wrote: “To the most incredible wife and mother.
“The strength you’ve shown over the last year has been remarkable. George, Charlotte, Louis and I are so proud of you.
“Happy Birthday, Catherine. We love you. W”

Royal expert Ingrid Seward told Fabulous that William is likely to buy Kate jewellery or take her on a special trip.

She shared: “I would have thought a wonderful piece of jewellery to say, ‘I love you. You’re so brave. You’ve come through this,’ something to really commemorate the last year, which was so difficult, and look forward to having a better year this year.
“I’m certain there will be a big celebration later on today when the kids get back from school. They had their first day at school yesterday.”
It comes after the King led well-wishes on social media earlier this morning.

The Monarch, 75, shared a picture of Kate attending the Royal Family’s traditional Christmas Day service at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham, Norfolk, last year.
Royal fans also inundated the mum-of-three with sweet well wishes.
One wrote: “I love the princess of Wales so much. She is an angel.”
Another penned: “Happy birthday to the beautiful princess.”
“Wishing Catherine the happiest of birthdays today. May today and the next year be wonderful for her. Much love to the Princess,” shared a third.

We last saw Kate on Christmas Day as she joined the royals for their annual church outing in Sandringham.
Prior to this, she hosted her annual Together at Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey in early December.
It comes as Kate marks a gradual return to work following a turbulent past 12 months.
William described 2024 as a “brutal” and probably “the hardest year” of his life, with his father, the King, also diagnosed with cancer.
Next week will mark a year since the princess was admitted to hospital for an operation on January 16, just seven days after her 42nd birthday.
She spent nearly two weeks in the London Clinic after major abdominal surgery, before beginning chemotherapy.
Since then, the 43-year-old has remained largely out of the public eye.
But, she announced in September last year that she had finished chemotherapy and she would focus on being “cancer free” in a heartwarming video.

Proud RTE star ‘waiting for my driver of the year award’ as she beams after daughter wins prestigious gymnastics gong
EVANNE NI CHUILINN revealed her daughter won U9 gymnast of the year – joking that she was expecting a gong for her driving.
The RTE star shared a photo from the ceremony to Instagram, tagging her kid’s coach and gym.

“Congrats to the 2024 Coach of the Year @paulina_wiktorczyk and the U9 Gymnast of the Year @gympeigi at @phoenixgymnasticsireland
“I love following your journey
“Waiting for my driver of the year award”
Ni Chuilinn has been a regular face on Irish television screens as a broadcaster with RTE.
She was part of the national broadcaster’s team for the 2024 Paralympics – joined by the likes of Jason Smyth.
This led to a special moment when the 37-year-old reacted to a long-standing record of his being broken.
Among the litany of records he has held, he set the fastest time in the T13 100m in the London Games of 2012 at 10.46 seconds.
His mark was finally eclipsed by Athmani Skander Djamil in a blistering duel with Salum Ageze Kashafali who was only five hundredths of a second behind him.
Derry native Smyth was watching on from RTE’s Montrose studio and clearly left feeling mixed emotions.
He did though crack a smile after a few seconds as he quipped: “Me, the Algerian and the Norwegian would be a really good race!”
Sharing the clip on Instagram, Ni Chuilinn wrote: “What a champion Jason Smyth was, and is.
“Six-time Paralympic Champion between 2008 and 2021.
“The T13 100m Paralympic Record he set at London 2012 was broken last night.
“It was the first Paralympic 100m final he didn’t race in, or win, since the Athens Games twenty years ago.
“What an icon of Para sport.”
Smyth, who has less than 10% vision due to an eye condition known as Stargardt’s Disease, also competed in non-Paralympic athletics.
He won two Athletics Ireland National Championships in the 100m and represented Ireland at two European Athletics Championships.
There, he reached the semi-finals as well as the World Athletics Championships, making him the first ever Paralympian to compete in those events.
Jason also represented Northern Ireland at the Commonwealth Games in 2014.
He has run 100m in 10.22 seconds making him the 3rd fastest 100m sprinter in Irish history and the fastest in Northern Irish history.

Lily Allen reveals she’s going away ‘to a facility’ after David Harbour split saying ‘I’ve been spiralling’
LILY Allen has admitted she has “been spiralling” since her shock break-up with her husband David Harbour and is “going away” to a facility.
The singer, 39, says she has suffered crippling panic attacks sparked by her heartbreak so is heading off for several weeks to deal with her “pain”.
Lily Allen says she is taking a break from the spotlight amid her marriage split[/caption]Lily has not confirmed exactly where she is going but has reassured fans she will not be checking into a drug rehab centre, adding: “I’ve not relapsed.”
Speaking about her emotions on her Miss Me podcast, the mum-of-two did say that her phone will be banned.
Lily admitted to her podcast co-star and best friend Miquita Oliver: “I’m finding it really hard to be interested in anything. I’m really not in a good place.
“I know I’ve been talking about it for months but I’ve been spiralling and spiralling and spiralling and it’s got out of control.
“I came to the Miss Me Christmas lunch and had a panic attack and had to go home. I went to see something at the theatre the other night with my friends Carla and Claire and I had to leave at half time.
“I can’t concentrate on anything except the pain that I’m going through.”
The star, who married Stranger Things actor David in 2020, continued: “It’s really hard. I’m going away next week. You’re not going to hear me for a few weeks, listeners.
“I do want to reassure people because there will be speculation because of the amount of time that I’m going to be taking away, that I’m going to drug rehab – I’m not. I’ve not relapsed.”
Lily told Miquita that she’s looking forward to getting rid of her phone.
“They’re not doing us any good,” Lily said. “They’re certainly not doing me any good at the moment. I really don’t like my phone.”
Miquita told Lily that she “shouldn’t be on it,” to which Lily said she believed ‘no one’ should have a phone and that devices should “go in the bin”.
“I think social media has f***ed us. I think that it’s f***ed democracy, it’s f***ed everything, it’s f***ed the arts, it’s f***ed everything and we need to put them in the bin,” Lily said.
“We’re not talking to each other anymore. We’re not talking to each other on the streets, we’re not smiling at each other, we’re not doing what human beings are supposed to be doing and I’m as guilty of that as anyone else.
“This is the one thing I’m very excited about where I’m going the next few weeks is that I’m not allowed my phone.”
News of Lily’s shock split with Hollywood star David emerged just before Christmas.
The pair had married in a whirlwind ceremony in Las Vegas four years ago, but reports claimed they had been living virtually separate lives for months.
Not App-y
It was also reported that Lily – who has quit her foot fetish account on OnlyFans – had been spotted on the celebrity dating app Raya.
However, this week, sources claimed Lily only reactivated her Raya account to keep tabs on David after discovering him on there.
A source told the Mail: “Lily only rejoined Raya to try to figure out whether he was seeing someone.
“Lily has never even looked at anyone since she met David. She is devastated. He broke up with Lily a month ago. He was meant to be on holiday with her in Kenya over Christmas.”
David’s alleged profile on the app shows the cartoon silhouette of what appears to be him smoking.
He states he’s an actor living in Atlanta but originally from New York and has the tag line: “Closet nerd that plays tough guys on your TV.”
His profile song is Led Zeppelin’s Houses of the Holy.
Raya is strictly managed, with only around 8 per cent of applicants successful and 100,000 people on its waiting list.
Lily has two children, Ethel, 13, and Marnie, 11, who she shares with ex Sam Cooper.
She told Miquita how her girls are bringing her “joy” during the difficult moments – but that being a single mum again is “really hard”.
“I can say, it’s really tough – they are always there and you have to be present and there for them,” Lily added.
“And that’s okay, when things in life are going well and you’re coping it’s really nice to have the kids around they’re a joy.
“One of the main sources of joy in one’s life. But when things are not going so well and life is tough, as it is for many people for all manner of reasons, having to hold things together is really hard.”

THE HIGHLY anticipated drama A Thousand Blows has released its first look images, showcasing Stephen Graham in his intense new role.
The 12 part series, created by Peaky Blinders mastermind Steven Knight, transports viewers to the dangerous underworld of illegal boxing in 1880s Victorian London.
New photos of A Thousand Blows have been released[/caption] The Victorian era drama was written by Steven Knight, the creator of Peaky Blinders[/caption] Lead star Stephen Graham plays a boxer in the new series[/caption] The show also features a gang of women who go by The Forty Elephants[/caption]Stephen (The Irishman, Help, Time) is an executive producer as well as a star in the new show, which centres around Sugar Goodson, a seasoned boxer who becomes embroiled in an intense rivalry that extends far beyond the ring.
The new images show Stephen’s face contorting with rage in the middle of a crucial match, as he lifts a fist to deliver a blow.
Joining Stephen on screen are BAFTA-winning actor Malachi Kirby and The Crown’s Erin Doherty.
Malachi takes on the role of Hezekiah Moscow, a Jamaican immigrant navigating the brutal streets of post-industrial revolution London’s East End.
Erin plays Mary Carr, the formidable leader of The Forty Elephants, a notorious all-female gang fighting for survival in this perilous world.
One of the images released features six women from The Forty Elephants who are staring fiercely into the camera with an unwavering gaze.
Some of them are hiking up their skirts to expose their petticoats, potentially as a way to demonstrate that they do not care about the constraints of ‘proper’ society.
Another snap shows Malachi Kirby gearing up for a fight with both of his fists raised while still decked in full formal wear including a shirt, bowtie, and waistcoat.
Elsewhere, he is photographed looking anxiously into the boxing ring and appears disturbed by what he sees.
Steven Knight, the lead writer for the series, has expressed his passion for the project.
He shared: “The love and care that went into this thrilling production is evident on screen from the first moment.
“What makes the story we tell all the more compelling is that it is based on the lives of real people who lived extraordinary lives in extraordinary times.”
Interestingly, it was the lead actor himself who came up with the concept for A Thousand Blows, before pitching the idea to Steven.
Steven revealed the show’s origin story, saying: “He [Stephen] contacted me and said, ‘Would you write an hour on this?’ I said, ‘Alright then.’ Then it got picked up, and it’s all in production now.”
The gripping series is set to premiere on Disney+ next year, with reports suggesting that a second season is already in development.
