Pals pay tribute to ‘popular & well-liked’ teen, 17, stabbed to death at bus station – as cops hunt gang in black
PALS have paid tribute to a “popular and well-liked” teenager who was stabbed to death at a bus station.
Thomas Taylor, 17, was attacked by a group of males at 5.50pm on Wednesday as he walked along Greenhill Street, close to Bedford bus station, police said.

The offenders, all described as black and wearing dark clothing, fled the scene towards Hassett Street and Greyfriars car park, Bedfordshire police said.
Thomas’s headteacher Chris Deller described him as a “respected lad” who had achieved good exam results at the end of year 11 before progressing to sixth form.
He said: “We are deeply upset and shocked to hear the sad news that a Bedford Academy student has lost their life.
“Thomas was a popular, well-liked and respected lad who finished Year 11 with a strong set of results, before going on to study at sixth form.
“Our focus now is on supporting the family through such a difficult period whilst helping our students and wider community to come to terms with such a tragic loss.”
Police have launched a murder investigation into the killing and several areas of Bedford town centre remain cordoned off.
Detective Chief Inspector Katie Dounias, who is leading the investigation, said: “This is an absolutely shocking incident in which a teenage boy has been stabbed to death in a busy town centre.
“We have a dedicated team of detectives working on this investigation and supporting Thomas’s family at this incredibly difficult time for them.”
She urged anyone with information to contact the force.
“We’re aware that there are images and videos circulating on social media, please refrain from sharing any such clips and instead contact police,” the detective added.
Superintendent Hob Hoque said: “We appreciate this incident will be concerning for Bedford residents and we will have a visible presence in the town with additional patrols through the coming days.
“Knife crime has no place in our communities and we would like to reassure the public that we are working hard to establish the circumstances surrounding this appalling violence and locating those responsible.”
Anyone with any information that could assist police have been urged to call 101 quoting Operation Cimarron.
Information can also be provided anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

A FORMER Love Islander has signed up to the new All Stars series after splitting from her England star ex.
Apparently gearing up to throw the villa into total chaos, Grace Jackson, who appeared in last summer’s series of the ITV2 dating show, is preparing for her second villa stint.
Grace Jackson is ready to fly out to South Africa, a source has spilled[/caption] Last summer’s Love Island series saw her rekindle a romance with Joey Essex[/caption] Joey didn’t want to couple up with Grace, so she moved on with Reuben[/caption] Grace is set to become a bombshell in the All Stars series which starts next week[/caption]When Grace shot to fame last summer, she was introduced as Joey Essex’s ex with them rekindling their romance on screen.
However, when Jessy Potts entered the villa, Joey decided that he had a better connection with her, leaving Grace devastated.
She then seemingly moved on with Marcus Rashford when the pair were reported to be romantically linked towards the end of last year before she dumped him.
And now it seems that Grace could be looking for love once again with her having signed up for the All Stars series that will start on Monday.
She’s even packing her bags as we speak and is preparing to fly out to South Africa.
A source told The Sun: “Grace was asked into talks by ITV ages ago but she was dating for a while – the second she was back on the market she went back into talks and is now set to fly out to South Africa.
“She’ll throw the whole thing into chaos when she walks in as she’s so stunning.”
During her last stint on Love Island, when Joey chose Jessy over Grace, she decided to recouple with Reuben Collins and they left the show together, although split weeks later.
Last year we reported that Grace was in talks with Love Island about an All Stars stint, but was in two minds.
“Grace has been approached for All Stars and we are considering all options at the moment,” a source told us in November.
FLING WITH FOOTBALLER
The news of her being in talks with Love Island at the end of 2024 came around the same time we reported that she had been on multiple dates with footballer Marcus Rashford.
We reported at the end of 2024 that the duo had been on dates around the Cheshire area.
“Grace realised that Marcus wasn’t serious about her and has unfollowed him on Instagram,” a source told us last month.
‘NO FUTURE’ WITH FOOTBALL HUNK
“She realised there was no future so she has decided to cut ties.

“When the opportunity arose to take part in Love Island All Stars this winter Grace jumped at the chance, she is still young in her career and is keen to maximise the exposure to help with her modelling work and net campaign deals.
“If she finds love on the show that’s a bonus, especially since she didn’t meet a suitable match in the summer.
“As far as she is concerned it’s Marcus’ loss, she is putting her best foot forward and can’t wait to enjoy some winter sun in gloomy January.”
